I am as close to a Huntsville native as it gets, having moved to Huntsville with my family when I was 5 years old. I attended Whitesburg Elementary & Middle School and Grissom High School graduating with the Class of 1979. I attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for the last 4 years of Bear Bryant's coaching career (National Champions my Freshman Year) obtaining a B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice with a dual minor in Psychology and Sociology.. I attended the University Of Alabama School of Law from 1983-1986 obtaining my Juris Doctorate and getting licensed by the Alabama State Bar in 1986. The last 4 months of 1986 I practiced in Fort Payne, Alabama with the Honorable Lee Clyde Traylor (later the Hon. JUDGE Lee Clyde Traylor).. January 1, 1987, I took a job as an Associate Attorney with Higgs & Conchin in Huntsville where I tried numerous lawsuits and became known nationwide as a Lemon Law Litigator.. I started a solo practice January 1, 1990, concentrating in Bankruptcy, Domestic Relations and Personal Injury Cases (The Alabama Legislature statutorily did away with my Lemon Law Practice by passing a State Lemon Law that superseded the more favorable Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act).. After a short stint as a Partner at Higgs, Emerson & Dezenberg in 1993-1994, I started a practice limited to Consumer Bankruptcy Law in 1994.. In May of 2012, Melissa W. Larsen joined with me to form the Consumer Bankruptcy Law Firm of Dezenberg & Larsen, P.C.. We are committed to providing the best representation possible to consumers facing economic issues.. I have five children, three grown (ages 26, 22, and 19 - two having graduated from the University of Alabama and the third having finished her Sophomore Year) and two "new ones" (ages 5 and 6). Will Pylant founded Pylant Estate Law because he saw the need for a boutique estate planning, probate and estate law firm in North Alabama that charges reasonable fees. He has assisted many North Alabama families with estate planning and preserving assets and family legacies. He has also prosecuted and defended will contests and heirship property disputes to trial, advised trustees on large and complicated trusts, and helped families resolve matters privately in mediation.. Will has worked in the area of estates, trusts, and probate for his entire career. Before founding Pylant Estate Law, Will was a trust officer at regional bank where he administered wills and trusts in which the bank was named as Executor or Trustee. He also assisted high net worth individuals with planning their estate. Prior to his time with the bank, Will practiced with a prominent firm and handled cases involving estate planning, will contests, power of attorney disputes, guardianship and conservatorship matters, elder law, and heirship property litigation including sale for division.. Will is a past president of the Young Lawyers Section of the Huntsville Bar Association and previously served on the Alabama State Bar Association’s Senior Lawyer-New Lawyer Task Force.. Outside of the office, Will serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Huntsville Botanical Garden and is active with Huntsville First United Methodist Church where he helps his wife with the youth group.. Will holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was recognized by the National Alumni Association as one of ten outstanding seniors for the class of 2014. While at UA, Will was elected as SGA Executive Vice President and Vice President for Student Affairs. He was a member of the honor societies Omicron Delta Kappa, Blue Key, Order of Omega, and Pi Sigma Alpha. He also volunteered his time with tornado relief and free tax preparation.. Will received his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where he was a Caruthers Fellow, Research and Writing Editor for The American Journal of Trial Advocacy and President of the Cumberland Republicans. Additionally, he was also the Scholar of Merit (best paper) in Constitutional Law II and American Law Practice and Procedure. In his third year, Will was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He also served in the Student Bar Association as a class representative.. Will is active in local and state politics, having served as an intern in the Governor’s office, the campaign aide and driver to the Mayor of Huntsville, and as a United States Page appointed by United States Senator Richard Shelby. My father has practiced personal injury law for half a century, helping
thousands of individuals. In 1996, I joined him in his practice after
working for a larger firm for four years. Many of the clients we
represent cannot afford an attorney, and there is nothing better than
helping a family recover what they have lost, especially if it is from
a large corporation which was clearly in the wrong.Helping
people is what our firm does. Whether it's recovering money to help
make life easier, getting justice for someone when the criminal system
doesn't work, or simply getting a refund for someone on a vehicle which
is a lemon, I enjoy helping people. We recently tried a case for a
family whose daughter was tragically killed in an automobile
collision. The defendant didn't have enough insurance, and the family
wasn't concerned about money. They simply wanted justice. They had
lost their daughter forever, and this young man was going to move on
with his life without any form of punishment for his wrongful conduct.
The family asked us to pursue the case through trial so that at the
very least there would be a judgment on his record. That's what we
did. We tried the case to a jury and won. The family was grateful
that we took on this challenge when other attorneys turned them down
simply because there was not enough money in it. When we have clients
thank us for helping them, we are rewarded in a way that you really
cannot describe.. PersonalI spend most of my spare time with my wife
and three children. Much of that time involves little league sports.

He managed and oversaw a program in Tucson, Arizona which provided excellent legal assistance to deploying airmen on civil law matters including wills, powers of attorneys, general legal guidance on domestic relations, family law, personal injury law, bankruptcy, consumer affairs, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).. Major Howie worked tirelessly as a contracts attorney reviewing government contracts valued at over 25 million dollars.. Major Howie expertly prosecuted criminals and worked diligently as a trial attorney in litigating the government's case to secure convictions and justice in 17 courts martial.
