Having grown up the son of devout educators in rural Madison County, Gary has never forgotten the simple yet enduring lessons of faith, integrity and hard work. As an all-county athlete and avid outdoorsman, he built lifelong friendships and associations with the kinds of people that make up the backbone of our country. However, he also saw how quickly those salt-of-the-earth people can be taken advantage of by large, faceless corporate entities. It was a deep calling to defend the rights of his friends and neighbors that became the motivating force behind Gary's desire to go to law school. Working his way through law school allowed Gary to interact with experienced lawyers and judges while going to school to earn his degree. He honed his courtroom skills amongst some of the greatest litigators in Alabama's history.. To this day, Gary believes the relationship with his clients is one of hallowed privilege within which trust, comfort and mutuality must be established as the structures of success. Once that bridge is constructed, the experience and dignity he brings to your case inspires the confidence that only an attorney of his caliber can offer.

Cory has been representing people injured on the job and in motor vehicle accidents for his entire legal career. His ability to get good results for his clients is evidenced by the fact that most of his cases are referred to him by former satisfied clients and other attorneys who trust their clients to him. Some of Cory’s results include being part of the trial team that achieved a record-setting jury verdict of $21,000,000 in a personal injury case. He has also had great success in workers’ compensation cases, such as obtaining a judgement valued at over $600,000 for an injured nurse. In that case, Cory recommended that the nurse reject an offer of $100,000 on the morning of the trial. Not only was a much larger judgment obtained, the nurse has now received far more compensation than was offered and she is entitled to lifetime medical benefits for her injuries. Sometimes cases can be settled, but other times a trial is needed; Cory helps protects the rights of his clients and helps them make informed decisions when it comes to resolving their claims.Other attorneys and judges provided their opinions about Cory to Martindale-Hubbell and, as a result, he received the highest possible peer review rating of Preeminent for ethical standards and legal ability. Cory has also been listed in the annual Super Lawyers® publication not only in Alabama, but in the Mid-South region, which includes four states. The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Trial Lawyers is a select list in which Cory has also been included for his professional ability.Cory and his wife Alyssa live in Dothan and stay busy raising their three children: Holley, Mary Hannah and Carson. 418 Main Street , Trussville , Alabama 35173

I’m beginning a new chapter in my life.. Soon, my daughter will be off to college, and after more than 8 years commuting to practice law alongside my Dad, I thought this was the perfect time to begin my solo practice closer to home.. I’ve been practicing law for nearly 20 years. I began working in my Dad’s law office in high school over 30 years ago. During law school, I was law clerk for the late Judge Richard Dorrough in Montgomery, Alabama where I presided over pendente lite hearings as special master. My training instilled in me the importance of preparation and being confident in all aspects of a case.. I opened Richardson & French in 2004, where I acted as city attorney in Fort Deposit, Alabama. In 2007, I moved to Trussville, Alabama and I began my daily commute to my hometown in Fort Payne, Alabama to practice law alongside my Dad, Robert B. French, Jr. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with clients from all walks of life without thought to money, status, color or religion. I believe my clients deserve an attorney who is competent, compassionate and confident, without being arrogant.. Anyone who knows me knows how I dote over my two children, Tori and Trevor. Tori has been in competitive cheer for five years and I consider myself the number one cheer Dad. I’ve always been the first parent at the front of the stage each and every time she’s competed. Regardless of the outcome, I was there to support, celebrate or offer a shoulder to cry on when things didn’t go well on stage. I’m just as passionate about my son, Trevor’s, sports activities. Whether it’s baseball, basketball, or football. I’m always on the front row cheering him on and I pride myself on never missing a game or competition for either of my children.

After graduating from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1992, I began practicing law in Huntsville with the law firm of Wilmer & Shepard, P.A.. Larry was recently recognized by Super Lawyers ® as one of the Top 50 lawyers in the entire state - for the third consecutive year. According to Super Lawyers’ website, "Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a rigorous, multiphase rating process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis." Less than 5% of Alabama’s 16,000+ lawyers were selected. This humbling recognition followed shortly after having been selected on the vote of other lawyers as a "Top Lawyer" in 2012 as published by Birmingham magazine. In fact, 2013 marks the sixth consecutive year that Larry has been chosen for the distinction of being a Super Lawyer (r).. Larry King was born in Leesburg, Florida, on July 27, 1962. He was admitted to the Alabama and Georgia Bars (1988), and to the Florida Bar (1989). He is admitted to all state and federal trial courts in Alabama; all state trial and appellate courts in Georgia and to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia; all state trial and appellate courts in Florida and to the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida; and to the United States Court of Appeals for Eleventh Circuit. He graduated from Florida State University (B.A., English-Business Administration, 1984), after being admitted on a National Merit Scholarship, and from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (J.D. 1988).. In law school, he was a member of the Order of Barristers, an articles editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, a member of the moot court board, and a member of the trial board. After graduating, he served as a law clerk to Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice C.C. Torbert, Jr., and to Chief Justice E.C. Hornsby. After practicing in Orlando, Florida, for a brief time thereafter, where he represented major manufacturers and insurance companies, Mr. King returned to Birmingham, practicing briefly on behalf of manufacturers and insurance companies, but representing people from the plaintiff's side since 1993.. A lifelong Methodist, Larry and his family are members at Asbury United Methodist Church. His service there has included the introduction of God's Garage Sale, an annual event where donated items all are given away for free – the same cost as God's grace. A few years ago, he and his wife gave up his retirement fund and established the Hands of Christ Fund at Asbury, a ministry that provides financial assistance to those in need, helping them to break free from poverty by furthering educational or employment goals; several participants in that program have been able to graduate from college with aid from the Fund. His wife and two children were baptized at Asbury, and his two other children were confirmed there. Larry credits Asbury pastor, Rev. Mark Lacey, with being the most positively influential person on his adult life. Presently serving as Asbury's Missions Committee chairperson, Larry continues growing his faith under the incredible and dynamic wisdom of Rev. Kip Laxson.. Professionally, Larry is proudest of his service on behalf of the injured people of the state. Having secured over $5,000,000 in verdicts on behalf of workers fired for having exercised their rights to workers' compensation benefits – including record jury verdicts in at least 4 Alabama counties, and having published several articles in leading legal publications in that area of the law, he has been one of Alabama's leaders in protecting the rights of those hurt during the course of their work. Two of his scholarly articles, Fired in Retaliation for Claiming Workers' Compensation Benefits in Alabama, 24American Journal of Trial Advocacy 539 (2001) and What Triggers the Application of Alabama Code §?, 33 American Journal of Trial Advocacy 1 379 (2010) (with Christina Van Der Hulst), were cited as authoritative in the Alabama Pattern Jury Instructions (3d ed. 2012), on the topic of retaliatory discharge. He has likewise championed the rights of those injured outside the workplace, as well, landing millions of dollars in jury verdicts for accident victims, helping insure that they are adequately and properly compensated for the losses that accompany devastating injuries.. Larry also gives professional time for causes he believes in. For years, he has given countless hours at no charge by speaking to high schools and church youth groups on the variety of consequences that drunk drivers will face, both criminally and civilly. This work has been in conjunction with his founding of Lawyers Against Drunk Driving; that organization is on the web . He also piloted the beginning of the Asbury Lawyers' Forum, a group of lawyers that periodically meets as a group to offer free legal advice to the public at Asbury United Methodist Church.. In March 2010, Larry was recognized in b metro, The Magazine of Birmingham Living for having "reached the highest levels of ethical standards and professional excellence" in its article, "The City's Top Legal Minds." Those accolades dovetail exactly with his peer reviewed rating, which notched perfect scores in both legal ability and adherence to professional standards. Larry was selected to the Board of Directors of the Alabama Association for Justice for the 2010-2011 term.

Servant Law was founded on the principle of “Whoever desires to become a leader among you shall be your servant."Mark 10:43. It was Jesus Christ who spoke these words. He made it clear that since he came to earth not to be served, but to serve, we should follow his example by being servants instead of being served.. I created Servant Law to serve the needs of my clients and community. Our focus at Servant Law is creating an irresistible atmosphere of excellence through which we help our clients navigate through troublesome times and obtain resolutions to legal problems in a manner that reflects the highest levels of legal representation, yet even more importantly reflects our intention to serve our clientele in a tangible way by protecting their integrity.. Outside of practicing law, I am a husband and a father. Family time and serving in the local church are also priorities. I am a lover of music and musician, with the saxophone being my primary instrument. I enjoy writing and arranging music as well as participating in jam sessions with my jazz muscian friends. When I have the opprotunity, I also like to swing the tennis racket.

Practice Areas: Employment & Labor, Workers Compensation
Gina Coggin was looking for a “get out of jail free” card when she decided to become a lawyer.. Coggin was home from college and “in trouble with my parents”. So she decided to go downstairs to her father John Coggin’s study, read his law books and just try to get back in good graces.. “I stayed down there forever,” she said. “I was just fascinated.”. The pre-med major went back to the University of Alabama, took a few law-related classes and just got the bug.. She then began going with her father, who was a district judge at the time, to hear cases. Her fate was sealed by two of her father’s actions: his involvement in a domestic case and his work in juvenile court.. “I went with him to hear a domestic case in Scottsboro and it was a particularly difficult case, it involved allegations of Satan worship..it was one of those bizarre cases that come along now and then,” she said. “During that case I realized how important law was relating to the lives of people.”. Then-Judge Coggin’s office also was filled with mementos from kids who had gotten in trouble. Mementos that thanked him for saving their life, talking the time to turn their life around.. “I knew that I wanted to do something that would make that kind of difference, make that kind of difference for the good,” she said.. After graduating from Alabama, Coggin headed to Cumberland Law School, her father’s alma mater. She was very active in Moot Court, was on the National Trial Team and helped bring the Negotiation Team to Cumberland. Many of her fellow students were in law school to launch a lucrative career. Coggin said she was there so she could make a positive difference in people’s lives.. After graduation, Gina took somewhat of an unexpected path and went to work as an Etowah County assistant district attorney. She was in charge of a pilot program that centered on prosecuting child sex crimes. Again, a chance to help others.. After a few years in the District Attorney’s office, Coggin was recruited into a plaintiff's firm primarily to represent victims of employment discrimination.. “I asked my father what he thought I should do, I had never represented a plaintiff,” she said. “He told me the people I would be representing would be just as much victims as the victims I had represented in criminal cases.. “And they are,” she added. “They are victims of corporate greed, victims of horrible behavior by CEOs, victims of unsafe working conditions; they are all victims, just victims of a different kind.”. Coggin’s passion for helping people won her the ALAJ Al Sansone award a few years ago, has made her a must call person when ALAJ needs help on legislative issues and has taken her to her current job as chair person of the association’s worker’s comp division.. Her zeal does not go unnoticed in the courtroom, the Statehouse, her church or as a mother.. “I love being able to go to Montgomery and encourage our politicians to do the right thing,” she said. “I think as lawyers we have a moral obligation to try and balance the scales...as we all say...without us, who?”. “Being a mother has made me a better person, a better wife, and a better lawyer,” she said. “I now have a greater understanding of and sympathy for what families go through.. “I understand the victim of an automobile wreck who can’t work and doesn’t know how they are going to buy diapers; a father who has been injured on the job and wonders how in the world he is going to support his family on a worker’s compensation check.”. “People are very surprised when they first find out I am a lawyer,” she said. “As a Christian I believe your ministry is your job and I know that I am serving the greater good and the Lord in my practice.”
