Lyliane Sheetz Couture is married to Daniel P. Couture and they reside in Quincy, Washington with their son.  She enjoys traveling with the family, skiing, boating, and cooking.. Lyliane Couture was raised in Enumclaw, Washington by John and Kay Sheetz.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Washington, and a J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in a total time of five years and two months.  Lyliane earned her private pilot's license at the age of 18 and worked as a real estate agent in Seattle during college.

I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and so is my wife and kids.  We love to spend time together and to prove that we took a 8500 mile road trip this summer in an RV.  We drove from Moses Lake, WA to New Jersey and back in 15 days.  Saw Mt. Rushmore, hometown of Laura Ingalls Wilder, Downtown Chicago, New York City-Manhattan (2 Broadway plays), Niagra Falls, NY, Palmyra, NY, Kirtland, OH, Nauvoo, IL and Winter Quarters, NB.  We had 7 - 8 people in the RV and love every minute of it.

In my view, the practice of law is partly the art of connecting with people, understanding how to best advance their legal interests in a personal way. Preparing for the practice of law began with a two year residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico where I went to learn Spanish. Since then, I have devoted myself to protecting and defending the legal rights of those who have been wrongfully denied benefits through the Worker's Compensation system, or the Social Security Disability and SSI system. Being able to speak to my Spanish speaking only clients without an interpreter has always facilitated my relationship with those clients who cannot speak English in a way that I also enjoy with my English speaking clients. No interpreter is a substitute for the one-on-one personal connection that comes in speaking with someone directly. When not working in one of our offices across the State of Washington, I enjoy doing some pro bono work through the Latina/o Bar Assn of Washington and their work at El Centro de la Raza in Seattle. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, or playing guitar. And like any parent, my children are my greatest joy and gift in life.

I am a long-time resident of eastern Washington and love living in the Columbia Basin. I am devoted to helping the sick and injured fight for their rights, and assisting my clients through some of their most painful and stressful times in their lives.. Outside of work and in my free time I like to spend as much time as possible outdoors, on the water, and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my family and two dogs, Opie and Bailey.
