J.R. spent most of his childhood in Northern Nevada. While there he was a dedicated debater, making it to Nationals on multiple occasions. When J.R. was offered a scholarship to Tulane University he couldn’t pass it up. During his time at Tulane, he was taken by the charm of the South. So much so he started a middle school debate league in New Orleans. When J.R. graduated cum laude with degrees in Political Science and Economics he decided to stay down South a bit longer to make sure the debate league would be able to continue after he returned home to Nevada. Just a few months later he met his future wife, a NOLA native. It didn’t take long before J.R. knew that his future wife would never leave Louisiana. After being offered multiple scholarships, J.R. accepted the offer made by Tulane University Law School. During his time at Tulane Law School J.R. was the Vice President then the President of the Federalist Society as well as the Associate Justice for Business Affairs for the Tulane Moot Court Program. J.R. graduated cum laude and also obtained a certification in the Civil Law. After graduation, J.R. was offered a judicial clerkship at the 11th JDC. After 5 years of working for 11th JDC and The Law Office of Verity Gentry, J.R. decided it was time to strike out on his own. Having fallen in love with North Louisiana, J.R. and his wife decided to stay in the area. J.R.’s practices include Successions, Wills, Divorce and Custody, and Property Disputes.
