I am an experienced trial lawyer whose practice is focused on commercial litigation and professional liability defense.. A significant part of my practice involves claims against directors and officers, attorneys, and certified public accountants by solving issues involving ethical questions and conflicts of interest.  I've also handled a variety of cases arising out of business disputes, including claims involving breach of contractual obligations, breach of fiduciary duty, securities fraud and RICO violations.

I am a partner with Deutsch Kerrigan, L.L.P. in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a civil litigator, I practice primarily in the area of toxic tort matters and have successfully handled and litigated hundreds of lawsuits on behalf of corporations involving personal injury claims arising from exposure to toxic substances.

Gerald J. Calogero was born and raised in New Orleans.  He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University of New Orleans in 1988, with a major in political science.  After working in the medical industry for several years, Mr. Calogero attended Loyola University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate degree in 1999.  After graduation, Mr. Calogero worked as a law clerk in Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana, which maintains the largest volume of civil cases in the State of Louisiana.. Priot to forming Calogero Law Firm in 2003, Mr. Calogero worked for two private law firms for several years where he was exposed to diverse practice areas.  Mr. Calogero has represented thousands of clients in cases involving Personal Injury, Automobile Accidents, Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice, Defective Products, Insurance Claims and Business Litigation.. Gary Bizal is an attorney in Louisiana who specializes in criminal defense, civil rights law, and personal injury law. He grew up in Pennsylvania, and after completing his political science degree at Penn State, Gary moved to New Orleans to attend Loyola Law School.. Mr. Nowak was counsel for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation and Novartis Consumer Health, Inc. in the phenylpropanolamine (PPA) cold medicine litigation – conducting medical and fact discovery for over 900 plaintiffs in more than 85 separate lawsuits. He also successfully defended Novartis through the US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals where the Court applied and interpreted the Louisiana Products Liability Act with respect to prescription drugs. Stahl v. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., 283 F.3d 254 (5th Cir. 2002).. Eric left Sessions, Fishman, & Nathan to help found Harrell & Nowak with the goal to create a top-notch law firm that represented Louisiana families and businesses in their fight for justice against big business, insurance companies, and others who harmed them.. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Christopher graduated in 1994 from The College of William and Mary in Virginia. He received a B.A. with a double major in Politics and Religion. In December 1997, Christopher received a J.D. from Loyola University, New Orleans School of Law as well as an M.A. in Religious Studies from Loyola University, New Orleans. Prior to admission to the bar, Christopher clerked in the New Orleans office of the Office of the United States Trustee, Region V.. Since admission to the bar in 1998, Christopher has almost continuously acted as counsel for debtors, creditors, and creditor committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, including as counsel for the debtors in some of the largest bankruptcy cases filed in the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana as well as in the Southern District of Alabama. Christopher has extensive experience in prosecuting and defending avoidance actions and other litigation before bankruptcy courts.. Christopher concentrates his practice on representation of debtors, creditors, and creditor committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization cases, creditors in Chapter 7 and 13 cases, and creditors and defendants in all aspects of prosecution and defense of claims before bankruptcy courts and in related litigation before federal district courts. Cele Gordon practices in the area of health care law. She has significant experience in matters relating to federal and state regulation of health care providers, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse, compliance programs, hospital/physician financial arrangements and joint ventures, Louisiana Hospital Service District laws, licensure and accreditation, drafting and negotiation of contracts, medical staff issues, risk management, PACE, HIPAA and EMTALA. Her clients include hospitals, hospital service districts, physicians, physician group practices, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, IDTFs, imaging centers, health care clinics, FQHCs, physical therapy practices and pharmacies. Ms. Gordon has provided legal representation as part-time in-house counsel for a major teaching hospital. Prior to law school, she spent several years working as a clinical assistant for physicians in group practice, hospital and clinic settings.

Bruce Schewe concentrates in arbitrations and trials, appellate matters, corporate and securities law, antitrust issues, business litigation and energy law.  During his more than 30 years of practice, he has tried/arbitrated to judgment/award more than 70 actions. A portion of his practice includes representing numerous broker dealers, registered representatives and claimants in arbitrations that the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA, formerly the National Association of Securities Dealers) administers. Mr. Schewe additionally represents many broker dealers and registered representatives in audits that FINRA or the SEC conducts or in enforcement actions or inquiries that FINRA or the SEC initiates. He has served on numerous panels of arbitrators that adjudicated actions in FINRA’s system. He also represents a number of clients in the areas of real estate transactions, corporate matters, expropriation, antitrust, intellectual property and oil and gas. In 1978, Mr. Schewe received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He served in the United States Army reserves and the Louisiana Army National Guard until his discharge in 1983 (as a First Lieutenant).

Andrew was born and raised in New Orleans. He worked in the private sector for over ten years prior to obtaining his juris doctor degree from Loyola New Orleans College of Law in May 2016. As a law student, Andrew graduated in the top 25% of his class, obtaining multiple honors for his grades. While maintaining his standing in the class ranks, his work on the Loyola Maritime Law Journal was published in the 2016 edition, vol. 15. Additionally, he served on the Loyola Maritime Law Journal Board as a Comment Editor for the 2015-2016 semester.. Throughout his time in law school, Andrew clerked for a prominent New Orleans plaintiff’s firm, affording him the opportunity to work on many types of cases with a stellar team of attorneys.. Andrew's pre-law background includes employment as a marketing and design coordinator for multiple businesses, as well as freelance work doing the same for clients in the greater New Orleans area. Andrea began her career with the firm as a law clerk prior to graduating from law school. She graduated from Loyola University School of Law, Magna Cum Laude, achieving the school’s highest academic distinction, designation as a William L. Crowe, Sr. Scholar. Prior to attending law school, Andrea received a Bachelor of Interior Design degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and worked as a paralegal for several years.. Andrea has lived in the greater New Orleans area for most of her life. She grew up on the West Bank and lived in Metairie for many years. Currently, she and her husband, Jeff, reside in Little Rock, Arkansas with their son, Jackson, and have a baby daughter on the way.
