I started Mitchell & Associates because I wanted to be able to do more for my clients. Up until that point I worked at a prestigious law firm representing big, corporate and insurance industry type clients.  My job was to defend them at all cost, even when they were wrong. I did my job, and I did my job well.. In 1999 I walked out of the Firm with one file, a case where my client was seriously hurt in a car accident, determined to practice law the way I wanted to and for the clients I wanted to.  I was able to sit down behind my desk and take as much time as needed to learn a person’s case inside and out.  I was able to find the details other attorneys would miss.  I was able to make sure I did all I could to make sure my clients got what they were entitled to under the law.  As my practice grew I had the opportunity to spend time handling many different types of cases, each with its own unique set of facts that had to be completely understood.. Gerald J. Calogero was born and raised in New Orleans.  He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University of New Orleans in 1988, with a major in political science.  After working in the medical industry for several years, Mr. Calogero attended Loyola University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate degree in 1999.  After graduation, Mr. Calogero worked as a law clerk in Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana, which maintains the largest volume of civil cases in the State of Louisiana.. Priot to forming Calogero Law Firm in 2003, Mr. Calogero worked for two private law firms for several years where he was exposed to diverse practice areas.  Mr. Calogero has represented thousands of clients in cases involving Personal Injury, Automobile Accidents, Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice, Defective Products, Insurance Claims and Business Litigation.. Mr. Calogero currently serves as an Assistant Examiner for the Louisiana Supreme Court Committee on Bar Admissions.  He was previously appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve as a Hearing Committee Member for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board.

Dan is a litigation attorney who has been with the firm since 2005. Prior to entering private practice, Dan worked at the Louisiana Supreme Court. Prior to joining Jackson & Jackson, Dan practiced at two small and mid-size defense firms representing insurance companies and businesses focusing on auto liability and mass toxic tort defense litigation.. Dan represents injured persons seeking recovery who were victims of auto accidents, work place accidents, and other disabling injuries caused by third parties. Dan also represents disabled persons seeking recovery through worker’s compensation, disability policies, and Social Security Disability/ERISA.. Dan has extensive experience in first party insurance claims for recovery of businesses against their property and casualty, and business interruption insurers. After Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and the 2016 Louisiana floods, Dan was instrumental in making full recovery for the firm’s commercial property clients making first party claims against their insurers.. Dan also represents small to mid-sized companies in defending worker’s compensation, longshore/harbor worker’s, auto liability and general liability claims.
