As a teenager, one of my first summer jobs was working as a longshoreman on the docks of the Potomac River in Washington unloading rolls of newsprint from the holds of ships. I later worked in a boatyard on the Chesapeake Bay scrubbing and sanding the bottoms of new newly hauled boats, and later worked as a roustabout on drilling barges in the Gulf of Mexico.. In 1975 I went off to law school at Tulane and have been working as a lawyer for 30+ years aggressively litigating for my clients as well as advising them on corporate matters.. Over the years, I have represented clients that needed my help. These clients have included seamen, river pilots, rig workers, oil and gas service companies, international and domestic ship owners, operators, and charterers, subsea contractors and marine insurers, among others. I have served as general counsel for a publicly-traded diving contractor.. I am licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Texas. I am a long-standing member of the Adjunct Faculty of Tulane Law School where I teach trial skills, as well as a member of the Faculty of the National Institute of Trial Attorneys.
