My name is Purna Krishnamoorthy. I attended law school at Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Auburn Hills, Michigan where I obtained my Juris Doctor. Prior to law school I attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where I obtained my bachelors degree, I majored in Spanish and minored in Philosophy.. During my undergraduate years I began to develop my legal interests early on. In 2005, I was chosen for a prestigious internship under the then, Chief Magistrate Judge of Detroit's 36th District Court. Here began my first courtroom experiences that would inevitably mold me into someone very passionate about safeguarding the rights of others. During this time I also learned the importance of seeking out the proper mentors in the field of law. It was because of the many rolemodels that I was fortunate enough to meet, both Judges and attorneys, that I decided to go to law school.. While in law school my interests expanded further. I gained experiences through various internships in the areas of landlord tenant law, public benefits, criminal law, family law, contract law, immigration law and juvenile adjudication, amongst others..
