I graduated from Opelika High School in 1970 and enlisted in the Air Force Reserve that Summer. I attended Auburn University from 1970 through 1973 where I studied philosophy and communications.. I graduated from Troy State University in 1989 with honors, earning a double major in psychology and human services. In 1993, I received a Juris Doctor Degree from Jones School of Law, and I have been licensed to practice law in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama and in all Alabama Courts. For almost 20 years I have been practicing law in Smiths Station, Alabama, serving clients in Lee, Russell and surrounding Counties in various areas of law.. For the past 19 years, my practice has become more concentrated in bankruptcy as a result of the severe, economic downturn in this area, and because of my deep interest in helping people when they can no longer help themselves and they have nowhere to turn. My practice has been as much a ministry as it has been a legal career, and I would not want it to be any other way.
