As an intern for the nearly-created “Integrity Unit,” Marshall also assisted in a post-conviction felony murder resentencing that resulted in a Life Sentence reduced to 7 years and subsequent release.. I went to UC Hastings College of Law with the intention of practicing Family Law.   I was drawn to the emotional nature of the work, and to the great positive impact that my work could have on families.. To that end, I worked for the San Francisco Family Law self-help center all through law school, and was selected to be a judicial extern for the San Francisco Unified Family Court.  I also worked as a research assistant for both Kelly Weisberg and Lois Weithorn, the two Family Law professors at Hastings.  I engaged in in-depth research projects and wrote substantive contributions to their casebooks.. Theory is all well and good, but the practice of Family Law is really what inspires me.  I worked in private practice as an associate at the Law Offices of Susan L. Jeffries for four years before opening my own law office.  I practice solely Family Law.  I assist my clients with a wide range of services, from the preparation of pre- or post-nuptial agreements to negotiating settlements on property and support, to representing clients at contested hearings.. Throughout it all, I endeavor to make a difficult time more bearable for each client, whether that be through easing their minds by giving them information on their legal rights, or by working on a limited scope basis to provide legal services at a lower cost.

I opened my own law practice to be able to give individuals the care and attention they and their cases need.  I spent eight years working as an insurance defense attorney, so I know how the other side views your case.  I also know how to fight all the way through trial, a skillset not many attorneys have experience.  Because of my passion and dedication, I cover several areas of law as they often overlap.. Having spent over a decade litigating cases, I try to help people plan their estates in ways that keeps their assets in the family and out of lawyers' pockets.  I assist clients with criminal matters because the system can be skewed and I am reasonable and comfortable in court.. After graduating from the University of Miami School of Law in 1994, I began my legal career as an Assistant Public Defender for Miami-Dade county where I represented people accused of all levels of crimes from misdemeanor to serious felonies.. In the 20 years that I have been an attorney, I have tried over 50 jury trials to verdict and have won nearly all of them..
