Solving the important problems of my clients requires all 28 years of my experience, careful research and creative analysis. Understanding a client's goals helps me prioritize my work. Then I give clients an accurate assessment of their case. Third, I want to get all of the information I need to help them achieve their goals. To help me accomplish these three goals, I need clients to keep good records and to bring the records they have for my review. I enjoy meeting with clients to discuss potential solutions to their problems. I want clients to feel welcome and well served at our firm's office. I take time to give them a list of options to solve their problems and to help them understand what a court will do in a case like theirs. When clients cannot solve their problems without court intervention, I want to find the most effective way to get the relief the client needs. I strive to have a close working relationship with the client not only to make my representation more efficient and effective, but also to help me understand how the client wants to handle the important situations and decisions in the litigation process. Litigation needs to be focused on the specific relief the client wants.. Outside of the office I have had a long tenure working on a local and district level with the Boy Scouts of America and three of our sons and I have our Woodbadge beads. I have also volunteered in the Salt Lake public schools on various committees. I enjoy playing tennis with my wife and practicing musical instruments with my children. Going to and from the office I often listen to recorded literary works or college lectures.

I have been practicing law since 1993, in pratically all areas from divorce and paternity, modifications, criminal defense, personal injury, probate, general civil litigation, and the llke.  As a young  lawyer, I started out taking any case that would get me in front of a jury.  I knew I wanted to be a trial lawyer.  I wanted to be comfortable in the court room.  So, I tried all manner of criminal cases, civil contract cases, and personal injury cases.  I started my law practice in Maine.  After 10 years, I had twin daughters and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.  Since that time, my practice has focused on divorce, paternity and family law, and some criminal and civil law.  I now have a son as well.  My husband and I live with our three children and three dogs in Park City, Utah. We love to ski, hike, play baseball, softball, soccer, and any other sport that involves the outdoors.  I have my own practice now, having practiced in small firms to large firms over the years.  I find my joy in my family, and in helping my clients through some of the worst times of their life.  The best part is the fact that they move through a process,  and hopfully, at the end, continue to move forward in a more positive way.  I have watched a spouse, mother or father, collapesed by divorce or separation, find love again, connect with their children again, and find their own joy again.  I am grateful for those clients that stay in touch with me so I can share in their happiness.

I grew up in northern California about 15 minutes west of Oakland in the Walnut Creek/Concord area.  It was awesome and miss it greatly.  I met my wife at the University of Utah.  Ironically, she was born roughly 30 miles from where I was born. I was born in Walnut Creek and my wife in Tracy. I played football, baseball and soccer growing up and was quite good at all three (not to brag, but this is an "about me" segment).  I played junior college football and also coached varsity football for two years when I was younger.  My second year of coaching we went undefeated. It was quite the experience.  My lifelong dream is to simply coach high school football again.. My wife and I love movies and our daughter.  We spend a great deal of time together and have a great marriage. I am blessed to be business partners with one of my best friends who is a great person, friend and attorney.  I am blessed to have associations with very good people and examples in my circle of influence and hope to be worthy of their friendship.. As for my legal practice there is really only one thing you need to know, I love to win. It doesn't matter if it is a game of tennis, Jenga or a hearing.  I hate losing, which is good for my clients.

Angela H. Elmore has extensive experience in criminal defense, domestic law, Expungements/Pardons, Name/Gender Changes, as well as general civil litigation, practicing in various jurisdictions and courts throughout the State of Utah, as well as the 10th Circuit.. Prior to law school, Angela interned and worked as a clerk at the Salt Lake City Justice Court. Disconcerted by the legal system and its constant mistreatment of marginalized and unrepresented parties, Angela went on to complete her bachelor’s degree so that she could be more involved with the legal system.. After graduation, Angela worked for the Salt Lake County Public Defender’s Office as a legal secretary. Eventually feeling limited in her abilities to help her clients, Angela matriculated into law school and attended the University of Wyoming. After finishing her first year of law school in the top five of her class, Angela transferred to and ultimately graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah.. Angela worked in private practice with Skordas, Caston and Hyde upon graduating from law school, where she handled anything from homicide charges and sodomy of a child, to minor traffic offenses. She then went on to work for herself in private practice, as a criminal defense attorney, under Elmore Law.. Various experiences both during and after law school gave Angela the drive to focus her career on providing affordable and quality resources to those commonly marginalized and taken advantage of by those in power or those with more resources, which led her to take a position as Managing Attorney of the Utah Legal Clinic Foundation, and the Utah Civil Rights and Liberties Foundation, to continue the work of Brian M. Barnard. She worked for the Clinic for seven and one-half years.. After the Clinic closed, Angela was determined to continue as much of the work Brian M. Barnard started, offering low-cost uncontested divorces, name/gender changes, and other low cost flat rate legal work like expungements and pardons, which she is currently doing at Elmore Law with her partner Adam Elmore.

After practicing family law for the last half decade, I have learned a lot of things. The biggest takeaway is that each client's situation is unique, and a strategy that makes sense for one client, will not necessarily work well for another. Each family is unique, and getting the best possible outcomes for each case means listening to and understanding where my clients are coming from, and where they want to go. I am not afraid to practice outside the box, and use creative and bold legal arguments to get the results my clients are entitled to.
