My wife and I reside in Allegany with our three children. I am a member of the Allegany-Limestone School Board of Education and past Board member of the Cattaraugus County Arts Council, Cattaraugus County United Way and Olean Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.  My family are parish members and actively involved with St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church.  I am a member of the New York State and Pennsylvania Trial Lawyer Associations and past president of the Cattaraugus County Bar Association.  I have been recognized as a Super Lawyer in Western New York and am a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.  Mr. Black only handle personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, general litigation and insurance matters in Pennsylvania and New York and has extensive trial and appellate experience.

I am a partner with the law firm of Black, Lyle & Habberfield, LLP in Olean, New York and have been pacticing law since 1999.  At our law firm we handle solely plaintiff's personal injury cases including car accidents, construction accidents, oil and gas site injuries, slip or trip and fall incidents, dog bites, medical malpractice claims, nursing home abuse and neglect matters and insurance disputes.  I am licensed to practice law in both New York and Pennsylvania and have handled hundreds of cases with excellent results for my clients.. I grew up in Sheffield, Pennsylvania and am now a resident of Portville, New York where I have lived since 2002. I have been married to my wife Barbara for fifteen years and I am the proud father of four children (1 son and 3 daughters).  I am extremely active in our community and volunteer my time coaching multiple youth sports teams.  In my free time, I enjoy basketball, golf, traveling and outdoor activities.
