When I was given the Ken Morrow Lifetime Achievment Award by the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in December 2011, Oregon Chief Justice Paul DeMuniz stated:  "Simply put, few lawuers are blessed with the combination of intellectual power and analytical skills that are the hallmark of John Henry Hingson III.". I earned my law degree and graduated cum laude from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College (Portland, OR) in 1985. I majored in Political Science and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon (Eugene, OR) in 1982, and graduated from Jesuit High School (Portland, OR) in 1978.. I worked for a mid-size Portland, Oregon, law firm immediately after graduating from law school and passing the bar exam in 1985. Ultimately I opened my own office in Clackamas County, Oregon, on October 1, 1988, where I have been since. My office is located in the historic McLoughlin Neighborhood of old Oregon City in a home built in 1920, which my wife and I remodeled to be accurate to that era. Out of the comfortable setting of that old home I strive to maintain a general practice which meets the diverse needs of my many clients, as I represent a broad clientele in many locations in the State of Oregon.. I have lived all my life in Oregon and am a sixth generation Oregonian whose great-great-great grandfather crossed the plains in a covered wagon in 1848, ultimately settling near Belfountain, Oregon, which was then known as the Belknap Settlement. I take great pride in my old Oregon roots and devote much of my spare time to genealogy work.. I have been married to my wife, Barbara, since 1985. We have two grown children, Jessica and Rebecca. We live on a farm between Wilsonville and Newberg with our menagerie of animals, which consists of horses, cats, and a dog.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Rhett L. Bernstein received his Juris Doctorate from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College with a specialized certificate in criminal law and procedure. During law school he clerked for the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office and Clackamas County Circuit Court Judge Ronald Thom. He prosecuted major felonies as a deputy district attorney in the Willamette Valley before founding his law firm in the Portland area in 2005. He developed his firm to offer specialties in criminal representation, estate planning and probate.  Rhett L. Bernstein has provided prosecutorial services to various municipalities, including the cities of West Linn, Lake Oswego, Oregon City, and Milwaukie.  He was elected as the judge of the Municipal Court for the City of West Linn in 2013.Under his management, his firm represents clients charged with the most serious of criminal charges, such as Aggravated Murder, Jessica’s Law sexual abuse allegations and those facing Measure 11 mandatory minimum sentences. Benjamin graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2012. Since opening his law office in 2013, Benjamin has gained vast experience in many areas of civil practice, appearing in court and arguing persuasively for his clients. Prior to opening his practice, Benjamin interned with the Multnomah County Circuit Court and spent a brief period with the Oregon Law Center, organizing an expungment program.. Benjamin clearly explains complex areas of law so his clients can make informed decisions. This furthers his ultimate purpose in the practice of law: solving problems and helping his clients navigate the legal system. Benjamin is a conscientious advocate who always works to achieve the best interests of his clients..
