I started my career as a Maricopa County Deputy Public Defender over two decades ago.  I have always only been a criminal defense trial lawyer up until the beginning of 2021.  In January I joined the City of Phoenix Public Defender's Office as their new Assistant Director.. My devotion to the practice of criminal law has been driven by my belief that there is good in everyone.  I try to spend time looking at my client holistically and seeing past the immediate charges to try to get the bigger picture as to what is driving them to wind up afoul of our criminal justice system.. As a Deputy County Attorney, I continued to work on developing my skills as a trial attorney.  I began my career at the Maricopa County Attorney's Office prosecuting Juvenile offenses where I conducted numerous trials.  For a period of over 5 years as a Deputy County Attorney, I prosecuted thousands of cases including a variety of felony and misdemeanor offenses in the Superior and Justice Courts of Maricopa County.  I have conducted dozens of trials throughout Maricopa County.  I concluded my career at the Maricopa County Attorney's Office after being selected to the elite Sex Crimes Bureau..
