I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and I am committed to serving this community.  I graduated from Gonzaga University in 2001 with a degree in Public Relations and a women's golf scholarship.  I obtained my law degree, cum laude, at Seattle University.  While in law school, I worked for two small businesses, a boutique employment litigation firm and a small family law firm.. After graduation, I practiced law in Kirkland, Washington for over two years in the areas of real estate, business, and estate planning.  I moved back to Reno with my husband in 2007 to return to my hometown and to be close to family.  Since returning to Reno, I have practiced law all over Northern Nevada, serving the needs of small businesses and families and gaining valuable experience in the areas of business, real estate, family law, wills, trusts, probate, and litigation.. My goal at Johnson Law Practice, PLLC is to provide accessible legal services to small business and families.

I married my high school sweetheart Cheryl Bianucci in 1984 and 35 years later we are as happy as ever.  Our oldest Daughter Kylie recently married her college sweetheart Mitch, our daughter Abby attends UNR, and our son Drew is preparing to spend two years in Africa giving service to the people of Ghana.. I love spending time with my family, watching my kids develop their talents, and when I can find a little free time, fly fishing.  I consider the amazing Truckee River flowing through the heart of our town as a gift to be enjoyed and protected.  Since I don’t often find time to fish, I like to grab a sandwich to eat by the river while I enjoy its beauty.

I have structured my professional life around colleagues who share my goals and skills. All are excellent attorneys at the top of there craft. We share everything on a professional level and I do not hesitate to seek counsel from one or all if I have a difficult question regarding a case. So, when a client retains me for his or her defense he or she gets not one attorney but several. But make no mistake, all Court hearings and ultimate decisions are my clients and mine to make. I have been practicing law for the last decade, and absolutely love it. I got a bit of a late start, spending time as a correctional officer and a network engineer before deciding what I want to be when I grow up. I graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law at the age of 38. My first 8 years of practice were at the Washoe County District Attorney's office. I have worked the last two years with Joey Gilbert Law as the head of the criminal law department. I am now opening my own office with the help of my loving and supporting wife. I will be focusing on criminal law, but will also handle personal injury, immigration, and select business law cases.

I claim to be a “local girl” as I was born right here in Reno, Nevada at St. Mary’s Hospital.  I lived on an alfalfa farm in Yerington, Nevada until age 5.  I then spent my remaining school-aged years growing up in Santa Rosa, California.  Upon high school graduation I returned to, what I have always considered my home in Northern Nevada, where I attended the University of Nevada, Reno.. I went on to receive my Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa, where I graduated in the top of my class.  I also earned a certificate in Health Law from the University of Tulsa.  During law school I competed on a national trial competition team, where I wrote the eighth highest scoring legal brief in the nation and received the award for “Family Law Student of the Year” from the Oklahoma Bar Association.  Additionally, my research work was published in the Fall 2009 Case Western Reserve Law Review in an article about commercial speech.  Furthermore, I was selected to be a law clerk for Administrative Law Judge Jeffrey Wolfe and spent my last semester working with the Social Security Administration.. Again, upon law school graduation, I immediately returned to Reno, where I can now finally say, is my permanent home.  Northern Nevada is absolutely stunning with its snow-capped mountains in the winter and crystal blue lakes in the summer.  I feel very fortunate to be able to call such a beautiful place “home.”. Holly E. Estes, Esq., is an experienced chapter 11 reorganization attorney who has been certified as a Business Bankruptcy Law specialist by the American Board of Certification - the nation's premier legal specialty certification organization.. While in law school, Ms. Estes accepted an externship working with then Chief Bankruptcy Judge Mike K. Nakagawa.  It was at that time and through that experience that she fully began to appreciate the bankruptcy system and knew that she wanted to become a bankruptcy practitioner..
