He also worked on the Haitian Asylum Project through Catholic Charities in Miami which was a precursor to his moving to Florida after law school.. Mr. Van Ness represents national mortgage lenders, servicers and financial institutions throughout Florida handling both commercial and residential real estate matters. He supervises all firm representation which includes foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, collections, title and litigation. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Van Ness began his career in the area of default servicing with the Foreclosure and REO Departments of Ocwen Federal Bank, FSB (West Palm Beach). Thereafter, he would establish the REO Closing and Eviction Departments of Bayview Loan Servicing (Miami) before leaving to practice with the law firms of Rutherford, Mulhall & Wargo, PA (Boca Raton) and later Vargas, Zion & Kahane, PA (Hollywood). Van Ness Law Firm was established in July 2004 focusing on the aforementioned practice areas but has expanded into other areas such as: appeals, construction litigation and personal injury..
