In 1992, I received a bachelor’s degree from Emory & Henry College.  After graduating college, I worked several years as an SSA disability paralegal in SWVA before graduating magna cum laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Appalachian School of Law. While in law school, I served as President of the Student Bar Council, received twelve academic achievements (book) awards, West’s Outstanding Achievement Award, ASL Student of the Year and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Trial Advocacy Award.. Upon graduation, I followed my calling to practice Social Security Disability law. For the past twenty years, I have zealously represented thousands of SSA disability clients throughout Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. I am a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Representatives and I have taught continuing legal education classes in handling Social Security Disability cases.

For over twenty years, I have been helping injured people and their families achieve the solutions and money they need to rebuild their lives after serious injuries due to negligence.  I love the courtroom, and I love communicating to juries.  I have tried numerous cases in state and federal courts, in jurisdictions throughout Virginia.  Through hard work, careful strategy, and excellent presentations, I have won major verdicts or settlements for my clients (or their families, when the injury results in a wrongful death) caused by car and truck crashes, dangerous products, property hazards, and medical malpractice. I also regularly help people pursue justice for property rights and contract disputes, especially for professionals and employees who are struggling to liberate themselves from a noncompete agreement that prevents them from working elsewhere, an area in which I won some important verdicts.. After over twelve years of criminal prosecution, I have decided to dedicate my career to defending the rights of individual citizens.
