Bruce Schottland was raised in Lake County, leaving only to attend the University of Illinois Law School. He is an active community partner and volunteers extensively. He is a longstanding board member for the Mano a Mano Family Resource Center where he also served as an Executive Board Member. He volunteered as a NICASA truancy court judge. He has also volunteered as a scholarship judge for the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Bruce also served as President of Chapter 932 of the Experimental Aircraft Association for four years.
