I am a native San Antonian, my family has lived in the Hill Country since 1847, and I have a residence in Hondo. I love this part of the world. It is my honor and pleasure to fight to maintain what's so great here.. I was fortunate enough to earn my undergraduate degree from Stanford University and my law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law.  After practicing at big firms for several years, I recently opened my own private practice.. I represent clients in a broad-range of areas from lawsuits to estate planning.  The majority of my work involves litigation, including, but not limited to, defending and prosecuting lawsuits between businesses, insurance coverage disputes, probate litigation, contested guardianships and confronting landlord-tenant issues.  In addition, I offer reduced rates to clients who need guidance, but not full representation, in small claims matters.. Prior to joining the Rutherford Law Firm, Ben worked as an Independent Petroleum Consultant for various oil and gas companies in the Eagle Ford Shale. During law school, Ben was a Dean’s Scholarship Recipient, selected as a member of the prestigious law fraternity Phi Delta Phi, and a was included on the Dean’s List. Before attending law school, Ben worked as a Legislative Aide in the Texas State House of Representatives for the Honorable David Farabee. He also worked on multiple statewide and local political campaigns. Ben obtained his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin where he served in leadership positions in various campus organizations and was a member of the service organization Texas Cowboys.. Ben spends his free time with his wife, Lauren, their son Townes, and their rescue dog Anna. When he is not in the office, you can find Ben on the golf course, cheering on the Longhorns at Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium, or watching one of his other favorite teams..
