Since she began practicing law in 1998, Alexis McKenna has been dedicated to social justice and protecting the rights of individuals. She also a contributor to John Winer’s published book, Proving Mental and Emotional Injuries.Ms. McKenna received a Bachelor of Arts in Justice from the American University in 1994 and her law degree from Hastings College of Law in 1998. While at Hastings, she was Senior Articles Editor for Hastings International and Comparative Law Review. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. McKenna’s strive to work for social justice led her to the area of criminal law as an attorney at the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office. In addition to the practice of law, I am active in several non-profit organizations.  I was on the Head Royce School Board of Trustees for 13 years and served as President of the Claremont Country Club.  The experience with these organizations have enhanced my practice in many ways as I have had to deal with critical issues.

I am an Oakland native and resident and have practiced bankruptcy, business law and commercial litigation at Kornfield, Nyberg, Bendes, Kuhner & Little, P.C. since 1987. Among my contributions to the legal community are,served as a committee member of the Insolvency Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California, a mediator for the Bankruptcy Dispute Resolution Program of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. I am  the author of "Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1994," Westland Review's Quick Guide to Foreclosure Law, 1995 Pacific 60, and Ihave lecturered for Lorman Educational Seminars. I am  a 2006-2020 Northern California Super Lawyer, and have an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the national directory of attorneys, indicating outstanding legal ability and very high ethical standards. ANDREA S. CARLISE is an Assistant County Counsel with the Office of the County Counsel in Alameda, CA where she oversees the Advocacy and Litigation Division..
