The majority of my practice involves working for or in collaboration with several Colorado law firms that specialize in trial court work, and rely upon me to handle the appeals of their cases or the more complicated legal issues that arise in their trial work.. Although it varies to some extent from year to year, my practice is divided between civil (roughly 65%) and criminal matters, it encompasses a wide array of substantive law in both practice areas, and it is evenly divided between cases in state and federal court. For example, while I have defended personal injury verdicts for plaintiffs on appeal, I also have defended insurance companies against such claims. I have represented individual and corporate plaintiffs suing corporations for consumer fraud, security fraud and breach of contract, and I also have defended corporate defendants and individual officers and directors against claims of fraud, employment discrimination, and breach of contract. Similarly, the criminal cases I have handled range from the representation of indigent criminal defendants charged with the theft and simple assault, to the private representation of “white collar” defendants charged with complicated bank and securities fraud schemes involving tens of millions of dollars.

Raymond Bryant is a trial lawyer and litigator emphasizing Plaintiffs’ civil rights and police misconduct actions. Before coming to Denver, Raymond was a political campaign consultant and civil libertarian political activist in cities across the country. Raymond’s graduate work at the University of Cambridge, University of Arizona Law, and American University Law has helped temper his belief that when one of us is abused by injustice, all of us suffer from that injustice. Thus, Raymond’s legal practice reflects his belief that the law should be used as a sword, not just a shield, for everyday people to enforce their Constitutional and legal rights against those in power who abuse the public trust.

I am the founding Partner of Killmer Lane's Western Slope office based in Carbondale, CO. I've devoted my entire legal career to representing people whose rights have been violated. I have only represented people – and never corporations or other large entities – who have been subjected to abuses of power. I have extensive experience with issues ranging from police misconduct to prisoners' rights to disability rights to employment discrimination and retaliation, and more. I joined Killmer Lane as an Associate Attorney in 2013. Since then, I have been part of the winning trial team in several major employment and civil rights cases. This includes the Marvin Booker v. City and County of Denver case, which resulted in the largest civil rights jury verdict at the time in Colorado history. I became a Senior Associate Attorney in 2016 and a Partner in 2018.
