Born and raised in southern California, Carolyn has always had a strong sense of justice and a passion for advocacy. After graduating from the University of California at Santa Cruz, Carolyn joined the Teach for America program and taught high school in the underserved community of Richmond, California. She then attended Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C. where, among other endeavors, Carolyn was a member of the Wrongful Conviction clinic and worked as a research assistant for the Street Law clinic.
