An Iowa native, Jacob began his education at Simpson College, studying Economics and History.  While at Simpson, he was fortunate enough to study abroad in London, where he met his future wife, Katie.  Soon after, he transferred to Sonoma State University, graduating cum laude with a degree in Journalism..
