In addition to my private practice, I believe in the importance of education and am also a Professor of Practice at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University where I serve as Director of the Lisa Foundation Patent Law Clinic and the Masters of Legal Studies, Patent Practice Program.  My instructional focus is on training students in the practical applications of laws and rules pertaining to transactional intellectual property practice, namely the practical aspects of patent and trademark drafting and prosecution. I have developed curriculum for and teach courses in Comprehensive Patent Practice, Patent Drafting, Patent Law, and Patent Licensing & Enforcement.

As president and founder of the firm and COO of Anticipat, a patent data company, I am no stranger to the challenges of starting new and innovative businesses—and the benefits of constantly innovating. My journey from starting the firm in half of my son’s bedroom to representing Fortune 500 and other publicly traded companies has been a blessed one. Along the way, my experiences have ranged from successfully issuing a software patent in 11 months using Track 1 examination to obtaining final rejection of a publicly traded conductive energy weapon company’s patent via ex parte reexamination. To date, I have written and been involved in the prosecution of hundreds of patents across the entire spectrum of technology.
