While living in the Bay Area, I worked as an educator for the Oak Grove School District, the Eastside High School Union School District and the University of California-Santa Cruz. I worked with Sony as a linguist helping to develop voice recognition software. I also worked as a volunteer and educator for several nonprofit organizations, including Catholic Charities and the Indo-Chinese Resettlement and Community Center where I worked with refugees and immigrants. These roles helped me realize that I wanted to help people and make a positive difference in their futures.. When I visited Seattle, I immediately fell in love with the city’s vibrancy, enthusiasm, and diverse multicultural population. I already knew that I wanted to be an attorney dedicated to family and immigration law, so I enrolled in the University of Washington School of Law.. While in law school, I worked as a legal intern in the Family Law Unit of Columbia Legal Services and the Self-Help Plus Program of the King County Bar Association. I also volunteered for the Northwest Justice Project and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.. Prior to starting my own firm, I worked for two prominent law firms in the Puget Sound Area in the areas of complex business litigation and class action lawsuits. Then—less than two years after earning my law degree from the University of Washington School of Law—I realized a dream by opening my own practice dedicated exclusively to immigration and family law..
