While working full-time in the software industry, I earned my Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law with an Intellectual Property Focus. I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from Columbia University, in New York, with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering and a minor in Political Science.. I relocated to the Pacific Northwest to join Microsoft full-time in 2003 and have since been in Program/Project Manager roles with Microsoft, RealNetworks, and AT&T, primarily in portable consumer electronics, digital media, telecom industry products, and consumer privacy issues and compliance. My primary interests are in the areas of intellectual property, copyright/trademarks/patents, consumer privacy, advertising law, small/startup business, and the myriad of issues facing artists, technology entrepreneurs and startups.. I am a member of the American Bar Association, King County Bar Association, and the Young Lawyers Division and Intellectual Property Sections of the Washington State Bar my spare time I love to try new recipes, work on cars, go snowboarding, play with my German Shepherd, and spend my weekends on a never-ending list of home improvement projects.

Tim divides his practice among intellectual property litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, and technology licensing. Tim has litigated cases in a wide range of areas and technologies – from trademarks to time interval analyzers. To date, Tim has litigated six jury trials and has argued in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Jeff Patterson is a registered patent attorney specializing in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in the computer, electrical, and mechanical arts.  Jeff received a B.S. with honors in Physics and Mathematics from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in 1995.  He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2001, where he studied pion-proton interactions.  He earned his law degree from the University of Washington in 2012. Prior to pursuing patent law, Jeff was employed as a radiation physicist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as well as other research facilities.  During this time, he worked to design, build, and test spacecraft, robotics, and avionics systems to withstand the harsh radiation environments inherent in deep space exploratory missions.
