Being an attorney is actually a second career for me.  I originally received a Bachelors and Masters degree in clinical psychology and was eventually licensed as a Marriage and Family psyhotherapist.  I practiced for 10 years and when I had a client that desperately needed legal help but could find none, I then decided I would switch careers and become a lawyer.. At age 36 I went back to law school and was fortunate to gain acceptance into Loyola Law School's presitigious evening program. At the time I was married with two very young daughters and needed to work full time during the day, while going to school at night. It was tough, but well worth it.. Later, another stroke of good fortune came my way when I was hired as a law clerk by a well known plaintiffs' personal injury firm in Santa Monica.  I was trained by the very best lawyers in the business and I learned a great deal about how to win cases.. I went into private practice having passed the bar exam immediately after graduating from law school.  My first case was a tough wrongful death trial in Riverside where a young mother was killed by a security guard at a major department store.  We won that case for her 3 young children who survived her.  That was back in 1997.. Since then I have been fighting for the little guy against big corporations, their insurance companies and their high priced lawyers.  I am no stranger to the hard fight that almost always must happen before justice is served.  I take pride in doing excellent work and standing by my clients all the way through trial and verdict.  I love the law and I love that every one in a while, I get to be part of justice being done.  It's a great feeling, I am good at it, and I wouldn't trade being a major injury/wrongful death lawyer for any other career.
