I joined the Zimmer and Duncan law firm as an associate attorney on May 11, 1992. I became a partner in the firm and we became Zimmer, Duncan and Cole in 1996. I focus primarily on trials and litigation. In 2017, Zimmer, Duncan and Cole changed its name to Northern Plains Justice, LLP.. I have tried to verdict 24 jury trials and have tried hundreds of court trials. I have also briefed and argued 7 reported cases to the South Dakota Supreme Court and 1 reported case to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Drew Duncan was born in Parker, South Dakota and graduated Parker High School. From there he went to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and later the University of South Dakota School of Law. Beth received her degree from the University of South Dakota where she graduated with Honors with a double major in political science and psychology. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Beth went to University of South Dakota Law School and graduated with her juris doctrine and Masters in Public Administration. After graduation, Beth worked at the South Dakota Attorney General's Office, first working on appeals then as the Chief Legal Counsel for the Consumer Protection Division, where she handled everything from civil judgments to criminal prosecutions. Most notably, Beth argued State v. Toben in front of the South Dakota Supreme Court during the October 2013 term. Beth then moved to Sioux Falls and practiced family law for three years before prosecuting abuse and neglect matters at the Minnehaha County State's Attorney's Office. Beth returned to private practice in August 2018 as family law is where her passion lies.. Beth's main area of expertise is adoption, custody and divorce cases. Amanda Engel grew up on a farm near Clark, South Dakota.  After spending several years living in North Dakota, Amanda moved back to South Dakota to continue to develop her legal practice in her home state..
