My firm's practice focuses on consumer bankruptcy and debt resolution. We do help individuals with Social Security Disability filing, small estate planning matters, and business formation, but our main practice revolves around debt resolution.. I enjoy my work as each day involves different aspects of my practice including research and writing, meeting with clients, drafting court papers for my clients, negotiations and discussions with creditors and Trustees, and overseeing business operations.. When meeting with a client for the first time, we offer a full consultation looking at every aspect of the client's case. I will personally discuss each and every issue that may be presented in the case and advise from there. I believe each client should be treated ethically and the attorney should act in the best interest of the client. We advise each client as if we were sitting in their place. We do not put clients in reorganization plans or debt settlement programs unless it is their best option.. The thing I like best about bankruptcy is when the case is complete, my client is happy. Unlike family law, criminal law, probate, accident claims, and many other areas of the law, the client is given a fresh start to begin anew without baggage or past trama carried with them.

I opened under the auspices under 6 Lakes Legal Services, PLLC inspired by the area I grew up in, which was known by locals as the 6 Lakes region because 6 lakes are found within a mile radius.  While attending Detroit College of Law, I clerked for the City of Detroit Law Department where I took part in undertakings such as the tear down of the Hudson's Building and the bringing of Comerica Park and Ford Field to town.  Upon my departure from Detroit College of Law in 1995, I set out to practice general litigation with Wayne County Legal Services then on to form Able Law Center which was located in Downtown Detroit.  In 2006, I joined with Ronald Reginald Dixon to form Demers Dixon, PC, which specialized in all kinds of law including divorce, traffic, criminal defense law, bankrutpcy and debt management to name a few.  Since the retirement of Mr. Dixon in 2015, I formed 6 Lakes Legal Services, PLLC with five locations in the greater Detroit area including Livonia, Novi, Southfield, Bloomfield Hills and Troy.  As of this writing, 6 lakes has just had its 2nd birthday and we are set to enter the new year with a clear message to please see us today so you can enjoy a bright tomorrow.
