My law practice handles cases in the areas of Personal  Injury claims, Divorce and Family law including name changes,  real estate closings, deeds, Probate, Wills and estates,and Power of Attorney. I am in a solo law practice and I offer  personal service to get to know my  clients as individuals each realizing they each have different needs.. I have been active in the Spartanbiurg County Bar and served as its President  in  2018.  I am a member of First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg where I have been a lifelong member and have served as an Elder and as a Deacon.  I have two chidlren ages 32 and 34 . My daughter graduated from Clemson in 2009 and my son graduated from The Citadel in 2015. I am active in my community as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Spartnburg and had have served as the President of the club and in 1986 I served as Lt. Governor of the Carolinas District of Kiwanis over 12 clubs. I served as the Prosecutor for the City of Spartanburg for 11 years.  I was on the Board of Mountainview Nursing  Home for 25 years.. I have been actrive in the South Carolina Bar serving as President of the  Young Lawyers Division over all lawyers under 35 years of age; as a member of the Board of Governors, a member of the House of Delegates and on the Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.. I have beenactive in my alumni Affairesas a apresident of theSpartnburg countyclemson Club, as Chairman of itd Schailsrahip Committee annually  and on the Alumni National Council. I have been an IPTAY Represeentaive for over 40 years and served as Spartanburg County Chairman several years..

I was born and raised in the small town of Salem, Ohio, and then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1980.  I graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Muskingum College in 1982 and earned my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1987.  I am licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and South Carolina.  In North Carolina, I am a state-certified Civil Court Mediator, as well as a Board-Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law.  In South Carolina I am certified as a Family Court Mediator.. My law practice has been concentrated in the area of personal injury since 1990, during which time I have successfully handled a wide variety of automobile accident, wrongful death, Social Security, worker’s compensation, and family law cases.  In 2012 I was appointed to the Spartanburg County Election Commission by Governor Nikki Haley.  I served in that position for two years.. I am the proud father of twin girls. I am actively involved with my church, community and charitable organizations.  I have also been an enthusiastic rock and mountain climber for forty years and have also immersed myself in whitewater kayaking.. I was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Access Fund, a national non-profit advocacy group.  I served many years on the Crowders Mountain State Park Advisory Committee, officiated as the President of the Carolina Climbers Coalition, and am a member of the Administrative Council of Gramling United Methodist Church.
