I attended Western Washington University and earned a degree in Economics and Political Science. After college, I worked in the banking sector for several years. In an effort to make a bigger impact in my community, I enrolled in the first accelerated JD program at Gonzaga School of Law. My focus was on consumer protection and corporate law. My first job out of law school was working on a grant for unemployed Veterans at the Unemployment Law Project. After the grant period ended, I wanted to continue to pursue public interest law.. I am most interested in improving the lives of the people of Spokane and Washington State. I am a fierce advocate of social justice and am always eager to pursue the interests of the poor, weak, and marginalized.

I am a mediator/arbitrator and practice personal injury and civil rights law.   I was on the bench for 19 years as a Washington Court of Appeals  Commissioner and Judge and a Spokane County Superior Court Judge.  I am a neutral with the American Arbitration Association.
