Hello, I have decided to retire and I am not taking on new clients. It has been my pleasure to serve many of you. Thank you, Dave.
Hello! Thank you for viewing my page. My name is Jill Hogberg, and I've been licensed to practice since 2013. I started my career in criminal defense and family law, but I always knew that I wanted to do adoptions. I even wrote it on my law school application essay! I absolutely love my firm, and that I have the ability to continue the important work that I do in family law as well as expand my work in adoption.. Helping my clients navigate divorce and custody issues, child support, and relocations, is an important aspect of my work. This is a critical time in a family's life, and I enjoy being able to guide my client's through it and hopefully come out on the other end with a healthy co-parenting relationship, if the circumstances allow for it. I'm well known amongst my colleagues for being respectful and easy to get along with, but also a zealous advocate who won't stand for the mistreatment of my clients. I fight hard when necessary, and help make compromises where possible.. Adoptions are where my heart truly lies. I love helping to create forever families. Sometimes the parent/family that a child is born to, is not going to be a safe, secure, permanent parent/family. I love working with couples and families that have struggled for years with fertility issues, and have been selected by our birth mothers. I also truly stand in awe of our foster parent clients, who have taken a child (or children) into their homes, sometimes for years, not knowing whether they will ever achieve permanency. Helping to complete the process and getting to congratulate the child, using their full, new legal name, is one of my favorite parts of the process. On National Adoption Day you can find me at the Courthouse bright and early in the morning, staking hand-painted signs into the ground, putting up banners and balloons, and getting my face painted to share in the joy of the day. I truly cannot say enough about the practice of adoption law, and what it has brought to my life.. I am also very excited to be on the forefront of new law in Washington allowing for paid surrogacy, and would be happy to help your family expand in this way, if the situation is right for you.. If you need legal assistance in any of these areas, please contact me. I'd be honored to help.. Sincerely,. Jill Hogberg
