As she grew up, she was an active beneficiary of the wonderful benefits Southern Utah has to offer. An avid athlete, Katie was the recipient of the Army National Scholar-Athlete Award for academic and athletic excellence, and was awarded Academic All-State recognition by the State of Utah for both soccer and basketball. In 2003 she was honored to address her graduating class at Dixie High School as the Valedictorian. Katie began attending Brigham Young University on an academic scholarship in 2003, graduating with her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology in 2005. During that time she was honored to have co-authored a scientific study, which was published in the BYU Journal of Psychology. She was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Undergraduate Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She also competed with the school’s Moot Court team nationally. Katie graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2009, cum laude. Since 2009, Katie has been working as an attorney in Utah and Nevada, assisting clients with various legal matters.
