In sixteen years of practice I have successfully tried dozens of jury trials in both state and federal court. I have argued at the Washington Supreme Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. I went to UW in Tacoma for my undergraduate degree and obtained my JD from Seattle University School of Law in 2014.  When I am not working, I am spending time with my family and my dogs, volunteering at my church and within local legal aid clinics, swimming, and baking cupcakes.

I was elected to the Fircrest City Council in November 2015.  I was re-elected in November 2019.  I was appointed Fircest Mayor Pro Tempore in January 2020.

I was born in Idaho, raised in Las Vegas, and attended Brigham Young Univeristy and the University of Puget Sound School of Law, which is now known as Seattle University School of Law.. I am married, and my wife and I each have four children, and I have three grandchildren.  I am active in my church and have served in many positions from scout master to priesthood leader.  As a young man, I served as a missionary for two years in Denmark.  Rock climbing was my passion as a teenager and I build ham radios.  At age 22, I started Jolley's Thermal Accoustical Insulation, Inc., in Las Vegas, which I operated for 6 years.  If you stay in an older Las Vegas hotel, Jolley's insulation is in the pipe chases.  In 1983, I began a financial planning career with an office in Framingham, Massachusett's.  In 1990, I began law school in Tacoma, Washington, graduating in 1993 and passing the bar exam that year.. As an intern, I began preparing bankruptcies in 1992 and have represented individuals and companies in bankruptcies since that time.. The other part of my law practice deals with estate planning, including complex tax planning.  Estate planning is something everyone should learn about because many will become disabled before the die and unfortunately, we will all die, and preparing for those events just makes good sense and is an act of love for those who survive us.

I was born and raised in the Tacoma area. After graduating from the University of Washington I attended law school at the Universtity of Puget Sound (Cum Laude). I was an associate editor of the law review.  While in law school I began to intern in a criminal defense firm. I enjoyed that work so much, I opened my own practice in 1997.  Since that time i have been proudly serving clients in serious injury cases and select criminal matters. I have tried cases in state, federal and military courts and throughout Washington.  I have also assisted clients in out of state matters.  Over the last 5 years the focus of my practice has been primarily on serious accident and injury cases.

After graduation from Wilson High School in 1977, I obtained my B.A. in Psychology and Film Communications from Pitzer College in Claremont, California in 1981. Three years later, I graduated from law school with a J.D. from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.. I spent six years living and working as an attorney in Sacramento and Los Angeles, California before returning to Tacoma in 1991. After working as an associate and partner at a large firm in Tacoma, I opened my own office in 2010.. I have other thirty years of experience handling a wide variety of civil and criminal cases from trial through appeal in state and federal courts. My main practice areas include employment, business and personal injury litigation.

I live in Tacoma, Washington with my wife and our daughters.  I grew Yakima, Washington on an apple and pear orchard.  My practices takes me all over the State of Washington..
