Tim Sutherland embodies the fiercely competitive state of his birth, and like that state, he hates to lose. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Tim was raised to believe that every problem has a solution; it just needs to be found. The legal experience Tim has gathered over the previous few years, combined with his natural determination and enthusiasm, makes him an ideal yet unusual attorney.. Tim grew up a military dependent in the United States Air Force and bounced around between several states before his father retired as an air traffic controller after twenty years of service to his country. After graduating from a military high school, Tim attended the University of California at Davis and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He made the Dean’s honor list and participated in the University’s Political Science Honor Program.. While in college, Tim also worked in Sacramento, the capitol of California, for the political arm of the National Rifle Association (NRA-ILA). His duties included tracking and interpreting legislative bills, assisting NRA members with various gun-related inquiries, and occasionally "working" at the firing range.. Tim also spent a summer abroad with his future wife, studying medieval warfare and history at Sterling University in Scotland. While there, he learned the real history behind the movie Braveheart, and visited numerous countries, including England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Austria.. My practice focuses on litigation of business and real estate disputes. I also represents both employees and employers in employment matters including employment discrimination and wage claims. Please feel free to give me a call at to discuss your legal concern.
My passion is to help injured people. Whether it is to help my clients obtain medical or wage-replacement benefits from the Worker's Compensation scheme or help them navigate the insurance system I guide my clients through the process and help them obtain the benefits they deserve.
My law practice is a concierge practice offering unbundled legal services for life transition. We focus on life and legal problem solving and prevention. I’m a not-so-average attorney offering an unparalleled presence during transitions. In fact, though I get the legal stuff done, it’s the smallest part of what I do.. As a Usui Reiki Master, my goal with everyone I work with is to proceed in harmony despite the sometimes rocky nature of change. Sometimes, I work with businesses seeking to improve service delivery, and at other times, I work with traumatized people who are in the process of reclaiming life.. I intentionally keep my hourly rates affordable and I do this by foregoing the typical trappings of the legal profession. I don’t have a fancy office, do my best to stay out of suits, and I work virtually, in the community, or at client spaces.. I believe the law is an important part of our lives, and I choose to contribute to my profession by empowering and coaching people. There are a gazillion litigators happy to take the money, but there are few who seek to give the law back to the people.. Got a conundrum and need somebody to anchor one end of the rope while you build that bridge? Give a call! I want in on that.
