David I. Cardozo School of Law, Class of 1989, Betsy was admitted in 1990 to the practice of law in New York State, as well as the United States District Courts in the Southern and Eastern New York Districts of New York.  She earned a BA in English Literature and a Masters of Library Science from the University of Washington, as well as a Masters in Health Advocacy from Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, New York.. In addition to being a lawyer, Betsy has worked as a corporate librarian in the banking, accounting and financial services fields and was the New York City Bar Association’s law library director.  She has also worked as a legal training consultant for Wolters Kluwer.. Having done her Masters Capstone project on the growing aging in place movement, Betsy served on the board for several years at the Center for Aging in Place (CAP) in Westchester County.  Working in the area of palliative care and end of life issues, she is also now on the Westchester End-of-Life Coalition’s (WELC)Advisory Board.  She is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and two of its committees, Elder Abuse and Disabilities.  She is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), serving on the NAELA/NY Legislative Committee.  In addition, she is co-chair of the Westchester County Bar Association’s Elder Law Committee and is a member of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association.  She has also recently been elected to the Scarborough Manor Board of Directors..
