Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Jacob earned his Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and received his bachelor’s from the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Farhang & Medcoff, Jacob worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Kimberly H. Ortiz at Arizona Superior Court.. Jacob gained practical skills while in law school by serving as the Vice President and Voting Rights Coordinator for the Disability Law Project. In addition, he also worked as a law clerk in the Offices of Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, U.S. Senator John Thune, and the Arizona Attorney General. His professional experience gives him a unique perspective and ability to advise clients.

I have personally defended over one hundred jury trials, including many of Tucson’s high profile criminal prosecutions.. Being charged with a criminal offense is among the most serious problems a person will ever face, involving possible loss of freedom, career, and precious reputation. In 1994, I was selected Trial Lawyer of the Year by the American Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. I have been listed in Best Lawyers of America since 2000, and am listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and Southwest Super Lawyers.. I have lectured throughout the state to attorneys, and others, on legal topics. I am the co-host of the annual seminar on defending vehicular and DUI offenses. I have been the co-host and speaker at that seminar for 30 years. I have spoken to other defense organizations, and the State Bar, on a wide variety of topics involving criminal defense, including witness interview techniques, cross examination, and pretrial investigation.. I am also interested in the Arizona Public Records law, and have spoken to jounalists, and others, on the broad reach of the public records law. I am particularly interested in the Puiblic Records law as an invaluable tool in criminal defense. I recently successfully represented a private investigator when the Pima County Sheriff sought to prevent him from using the public records law to investigate an alleged sex offense.
I have practiced law in Arizona for almost 30 years. I've also handled cases out of California, Texas, Montana, Kansas, Ohio, Wisconsin, New Mexico and Washington. It is my passion to help those who need help in either criminal cases or personal injury cases. I am very good at what I do and have had a stellar career doing what I love. I've lived in Tucson almost all of my life having graduated from Catalina High School, the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and From St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.
