The most satisfying part of my job is fighting for people who are faced with toughest situation of their lives. Born in the Texas Panhandle, I grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Ronald Reagan High School summa cum laude before moving to Waco to attend Baylor University in 2005. There I graduated magna cum laude from the University Scholars program and the Baylor Honors College, concentrating in Classical Languages and Philosophy. While an undergraduate student, I was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society and presented my original research at the Classical Association of the Middle West and South’s Annual Meeting. I also served as editor-in-chief of the Iconoclast, a student-written campus journal.. After graduating from Baylor University, I was offered a full-tuition scholarship to study at Baylor Law School. At Baylor Law, I focused my studies on criminal law, completing the school’s Criminal Law concentration and holding internships with the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office and the Federal District Court for the Western District of Texas. I graduated from Baylor Law in the top-third of my class in May 2013.. In October 2014, I married my college sweetheart and fellow attorney, Amanda. Together we have renovated a historic Waco home near downtown where we live with our dog, Winston, and cats, Franklin and Eleanor.

I represent citizens who have been accused of violating the criminal laws of Texas.  I have lived in the Waco/Central Texas area since 1991.  Prior to becoming an attorney, I did several things:  radio announcer, commercial roofing, registered nurse.  As much as I love all of the career paths I have followed, nothing excites me more than practicing criminal law.  I have been blessed with a great business partner, and talented attorneys and staff.  We look forward to helping you with any legal issues you may have.. I have been married for 19 years (all of the time to the same woman :) ) and we have one son.

I am a third generation trial attorney. Both my dad and grandfather were trial attorneys.  I went to Baylor University and was a premedical student.  I graduated with a degree in biology, but since the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, I went to law school.. I have represented people who have been injured in serious trucking and automobile accidents, babies who have been injured as a result of medical errors at birth, and people who have been injured as a result of medical malpractice and other types of serious accidents.. I am an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School teaching Personal Injury Trial Law.  I have given talks across the country to labor and delivery nurses about the types of medical mistakes that I have seen in my birth injury cases to help educate these nurses on steps that they can take to prevent injuries to babies in the future.
