Jared N. Hawkins is a native of Burns,Oregon. He received his law degree in 2004 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School atBrighamYoungUniversityinProvo,Utah, graduating with honors. Shortly after passing the bar inWashingtonhe entered the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate (JAG). As a military attorney he had a diverse practice of law in advising military commanders, service members, and their families on a variety of matters including administrative law, employment law, contracts, environmental law, real property law, landlord/tenant disputes, wills, and criminal justice. Over the course of 6 ½ years he gained significant litigation experience serving in roles as both a prosecutor/government representative and a defense counsel in administrative proceedings and misdemeanor and felony level courts-martial. Jared joined Virtual In-House Counsel in September 2011 (he puchased the firm in November 2014 and changed the firm name to Hawkins Law, PLLC).  Since joining the firm, Jared’s practice has included issues related to employment law, unemployment compensation, municipal law, landlord-tenant disputes, contract litigation, general civil litigation, property law, estate planning, debt collection, small claims court, and a myriad of other matters. As a former Marine Corps Infantry Sergeant, the fabric of my being is leadership, helping others, and fighting for what is right.  My Law Firm stands for those basic principles.. I began my educational tour of duty following my enlistment.  Graduating from Florida Atlantic and Florida State Universities, I then completed my legal training at Florida International and Temple University with an intense focus on courtroom advocacy and storytelling.  I started my own law practice in Nashville, Tennessee while my bride completed her obstetrician/gynecology training at Vanderbilt University.. In Nashville, I truly honed my legal skills while standing behind my core beliefs.  Whether it was advocating for a mother’s right to raise her children, litigating against prison abuse, or defending the wrongfully accused, I always made the defense of others’ rights, my personal passion.. I moved to Walla Walla in search of a simpler life in a more wholesome community.  I found what I was looking for.. I recognize people are going through difficult times when they come to an attorney.  Though every person has a unique story, I am consistent in my approach: I try to comfort them with the security that I will lead and help them through their most difficult times while fighting for their rights with an eye toward a better future.
