I attended Sanford Prep School, Brandywine High School (1975) , The University of Delaware, The George Washington University (B.A.1980) and The Delaware Law School of Widener University (J.D.1984) I passed the Delaware Bar in 1984. In law school I was selected as a member of the  Law Review based on my grades and writing ability. My law school classmates have acheived success as lawyers and judges, and in other fields, such as banking, including one who is currently the CEO of the Bryn Mawr Trust Company.  I have been a Trial Lawyer for over 26 years focusing exclusively on Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, and Social Security Disability litigation. I have appeared as an advocate in all Delaware Courts: the J.P.Court, the Court of Common Pleas, the Superior Court, the Court of Chancery, the Supreme Court and the following Federal Courts:  the United States District Court of Delaware, and the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.  Depending on the severity of their injuries and the type of accident  sometimes my clients are forced to seek recovery in more than one of the practice fields referenced above at the same time. It is an advantage to them to have all their claims under on one roof. Nick is a founding partner at Pratcher Krayer LLC practicing in the areas of personal injury and workers' compensation law.  Prior to founding Pratcher Krayer LLC, Nick was a partner at another personal injury firm in Wilmington, Delaware.  Prior to representing Plaintiffs and Claimants, Nick worked at a Wilmington, Delaware insurance defense firm where he provided representation to insurance carriers in personal injury and workers' compensation matters.  He ultimately switched to representing Plaintiffs and Claimants because he enjoys helping individual people and ensuring those that suffer injuries get the compensation they deserve.. Nick also previously served as a Deputy Attorney General at the State of Delaware Department of Justice from where he prosecuted criminal cases and served as a Deputy Child Advocate for the State of Delaware Office of the Child Advocate where he provided representation to neglected and abused children.. Nick is a member of the Delaware Bar and the Federal District Court for the District of Delaware. I have practiced law my entire career in Wilmington, Delaware. After graduating from Emory University School of Law in 1982 I became a deputy attorney general in the criminal division of the Delaware Department of Justice. I was a prosecutor for approximatel 3 years until I transitioned to private practice where I handled criminal defense cases and personal injury and worker's compensation cases. I have handled every type of criminal case from traffic tickets to capital murder cases. I have appeared in every State and Federal court in Delaware. I have had the occasion to appear before the Delaware Supreme Court in over 10 cases which is a unique distinction. I have been appointed by Superior Court judges to represent 3 capital murder defendants, which I believe reflects their respect for my competence and experience. I have been a trial lawyer for over 30 years.  My philosophy is to "imagine that I am the client" when I represent people as that serves to set the expectation as to how to properly assist each client. In addition to practicing law I have attempted to give back to my community in a number of ways. I was a board member on the Brandywine School District Board of Education from 1991 to 1996. I was appointed by Governor Carper to serve on the Advisory Council to the Delaware Department of Children, Youth and their Families. I was appointed by Governor Minner to serve on the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association. I am a board member of the Maplewood Senior Center. I have volunteered as a youth soccer, basketball, football and roller hockey coach. I am divorced and have three adult children.

I have 20 years of experience as a trial attorney in handling all criminal matters: Misdemeanor offenses in the Court of Common Pleas, juvenile cases in Family Court, and the entire range of adult felony cases in Superior Court, including drug offenses, property crimes, white collar crimes, violent felonies, and weapons charges.
