Early in his career in 2007, Cory took a leave of absence from private practice to clerk for the Hon. John F. Walter of the United States District Court for the Central District of Los Angeles. Prior to attending law school, Cory was a Teach for America corps member, teaching second grade in the South Bronx in New York City and sixth grade in Southeast Los Angeles. In January 2000, Cory earned his Bachelor of Arts, Phi Beta Kappa, from Rice University in Houston. Cory grew up on the North Shore of Chicago and remains a huge Chicago sports fan, and, unrelatedly, is also a supporter of Arsenal Football Club.. Cory is a 2005 graduate of the UCLA School of Law and has also been a practicing member of the California Bar since 2005.
