Why I do this work.. I am the proud child of two small business owners and granddaughter, niece, and sister to many other small business owners. I share this because (1) the entrepreneurial spirit is strong in my genes, (2) I spent a lifetime watching those closest to me help others through their chosen professions, and (3) I know the joys, discomforts, grit, and spirit of the small business family. It was inevitable that I would start my own firm.. I went to law school to help people like my parents: hard-working, passionate, skilled individuals that are masters of their craft and need dependable, unpretentious legal counsel. After a decade of tax law work at large companies, I founded my own firm to help small business owners with business, tax, and estate planning needs. Two years into private practice, I found my niche: estate administration focused on small business families.. I administer estate that are complex, gnarled beasts with multiple facets and many interwoven tasks. My clients and I work closely with their team of professionals — financial advisor, tax preparer, accountant, insurance agent, etc. — to ensure all pieces of the estate administration are coordinated for timely completion. Most of my clients are referred to my firm from a financial planner, accountant, or attorney.. I seek to add value to my clients' family lives by relieving the stress of estate administration so they can focus on family. Let me share my knowledge, explain your options, and help you set a plan for moving forward. I completely understand that death, taxes, court filings, and the paperwork (so much paperwork!) are daunting situations that can become overwhelming. Allow me to help you make this scary situation manageable. We can do this together.. I look forward to helping you administer your loved one's estate. Let me take your situation from overwhelming to manageable. Please note that sending me an email or leaving a voicemail won't create a lawyer-client relationship, so please don't share anything confidential in our initial communications.. Love + light!Rebecca

I believe that middle class people and small businesses need access to legal services at a reasonable cost. I represent clients in estate planning, probate, real estate transactions, small business planning, and tax controversies.
I
began my career in estate planning during my studies at Stanford Law
School, preparing wills, trusts, and probate filings as a law clerk in
a busy estate planning boutique. After graduating in 1997, I accepted a
position with McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen LLP (now Bingham
McCutchen LLP), a large Silicon Valley law firm, where I specialized in
commercial litigation, appeals, and hospital/medical staff law. I
remained with Bingham for eleven years before moving to Portland and
joining the Oregon State Bar in 2008. Since that time, I have returned
to my estate planning roots, focusing my practice on guiding
individuals and families through the estate planning and probate
process.. I live in northeast Portland with my husband, two children, one
fiesty cat, one fish, and one frog.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking with my family, running, cooking,
photography, and best of all, reading a good book.
