Tiffany graduated from Liberty University, summa cum laude, in 2003. After college, she served as a legislative aide to a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. She decided to follow her true passion and graduated from Regent University School of Law in 2008. After law school, she served the people of Virginia Beach and Norfolk as a public defender for over 7 years.. Tiffany lives in Norfolk with her husband and 4 children. She is a passionate advocate for public schools and serves as a tutor for the Life Enrichment Center in the Norfolk Public School System. My family migrated to United States while I was very young.  As a young immigrant I was accused of a crime that I did not commit.  I was arrested, handcuffed, and questioned.  I understand the burden of being charged with a crime. I have been a defendant and a client myself. I know how it feels when your constitutional rights are violated.  I know what it means to be innocent and yet accused of doing something wrong.  I know what it means when the Judicial System seems to be deaf and blind.. Also growing up in an immigrant family has help me understand that an Immigration status is not just a status; it is a change in a family's life.. Prior to becoming an attorney I managed a company with an annual budget of over 25 million dollars and 300 employees. For 15 years I hired attorneys who represented our business in various disputes.  I know how it feels to rely on your attorney to protect the business that you worked so hard to build.. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from James Madison University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I earned my Juris Doctoral degree among the top tier of my class from Howard University School of Law.. I am a member of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, Beta Gamma Sigma business fraternity, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The American Association for Justice, American Immigration Lawyers Association, Fairfax Bar Association, Northern Virginia Black Lawyers Association, and several other organizations. Paul has been practicing law since 2005. His areas of focus are in criminal and traffic defense and civil litigation (domestic relations, personal injury). Before and while I was in law school, I served as Director of Research for the Legislature of Michigan's Washington, D.C. office, coordinating federal/state legislation between the Michigan Congressional delegation and the Michigan legislature.. Upon graduating from law school in 1979, I worked as a staff attorney for the Rhode Island Supreme Court.  From 1981-1987, I was a prosecutor in the Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney's Office.  I have been a criminal defense lawyer since 1987.. I am a past-president of the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and continue to serve on its Board of Directors.  I regularly teach continuing legal education in the area of criminal defense around the state for a number of associations and organizations.. I serve as the Virginia State Representative for the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), and regularly attend their sponsored seminars around the country.

R. Tyler Bezilla's interest in law began at the Pennsylvania State University where he participated in the Mock Trial program. After graduation he attended the Antonin Scalia Law School and was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board and Moot Court Board. In both programs he was a lead member of competitive teams that competed nationally. In Trial Advocacy, his team was the national runner up in the American Association of Justice competition, defeating over 200 other law schools. In Moot Court, he advanced to the national rounds of the New York Bar Association Moot Court Competition.. While taking classes and competing, Tyler interned at the Loudoun County Public Defender's Office, a local immigration law firm, and finally with the Fairfax Commonwealth Attorney's Office. Upon graduation he became an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Fauquier County, where he prosecuted DUI, traffic cases, juvenile crimes, drug cases, felony offenses, and traffic-related fatality cases. He also tried many of these cases before juries in Circuit Court. During his time in Fauquier he trained law enforcement on DUI law, gave appellate updates on legal changes, and volunteered for student government day. He was also an active member of the Fauquier County Bar Association.. Tyler left Fauquier County to become an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Fairfax County. He was promoted to Senior Assistant and placed in charge of the Circuit Court, or major crimes, division of the office. There he was responsible for managing felony prosecutors, working with police during their investigations, and trying major violent crimes in Circuit Court. Among those cases, Tyler secured convictions on a number of murder and death-related cases. Some of these matters appeared on 48 Hours and other national news organizations. In addition to his Circuit Court responsibilities, he served as the point of contact for the Crash Reconstruction Team in Fairfax County. His duties included approving charges, assisting investigations, and prosecuting fatalities resulting from traffic crashes.. Having concluded his service to the community, Tyler then left the Fairfax Commonwealth's Office to pursue a career in private practice. He now defends clients charged with crimes in the Northern Virginia area. His practice areas include murder, robbery, arson, rape, and other major felony offenses. He also represents clients in DUI and traffic matters.

Joseph W. McMurray has been a licensed attorney since 2010, currently serving clients in Tennessee and Virginia. Mr. McMurray was born and raised in Scott County, Virginia. He attended James Madison University and received a scholarship to attend Charleston School of Law. After graduating law school, he clerked for Charleston County Judge Honorable Irv Condon. Following his clerkship, Mr. McMurray began private practice which eventually lead him to accepting a position as an Assistant District Attorney General in the Second Judicial District in Sullivan County, Tennessee. While serving in that role he was the supervisor of General Sessions Court, Juvenile Court and Domestic Relations for the Second Judicial District for over six years. Renee Berard has lived in Loudoun County, Virginia for over 30 years and is a proud alumna of Loudoun Valley High School.  Renee went on to graduate magna cum laude from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  After college, Renee graduated cum laude from Tulane University Law School in 2009.. While attending law school, Renee was awarded an internship with the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina.  She had the honor and pleasure of working for Chief Judge Graham C. Mullen.  During this experience, Renee was able to participate in trials, sentencing and naturalization ceremonies.  She also gained experience researching and drafting orders that were before the court.. In private practice at the mid-town Manhattan law firm of Poletti Friedin Prashker Feldman & Gartner (founded by FDR Jr.), John represented all the airlines in the Air Traffic Controllers Strike in 1981, and negotiated a settlement for the Airlines amounting to $28,869,.. Why I Became a Defense Attorney. Three reasons:  To help people in trouble; to protect individual rights; and to defend the Constitution.. I grew up watching my mother help people when they most needed it and I know it made a deep impression on me.  I learned so much from watching her.  Most importantly, she taught me to “meet people where they are” and see what you could offer of yourself to help them.  She was the best counselor and mediator you’d ever meet and I strive in my own career to be half as good as she was in her career.  She is gone now but I know that I carry her spirit with me whenever I am actively engaged in helping someone in crisis.. I also grew up as a Navy junior and that, too, made a deep impression on me.  My father was a distinguished Naval Officer who flew jets during the Vietnam War.  He risked his life to defend our way of life and the Constitution.  He knew that if there weren’t citizens who were willing to stand up and fight on behalf of all of us we could lose everything.  I am proud to say that I have followed in my father’s footsteps in defending our rights and the Constitution; I have just done it in a different way.. Very early on in my career, I saw how easily all of our rights can be eroded if there aren’t lawyers out there fighting to protect the rights of all who are accused – the guilty and the innocent.  If we don’t demand that the promises of the Constitution are delivered, we lose them.  The burden to prove guilt is on the government not on the defendant.  The Constitution demands that we view people accused of crime as innocent unless and until they are proven guilty.  And guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.  These are amazing concepts that separate our country and our laws from the rest of the world.  We lose them if we don’t fight for them.. At the core, these are the reasons that I chose to become a defense attorney.
