I was born and raised in Chicago and obtained my Bachelor of Arts in psychology and criminal justice, summa cum laude, from Indiana University-Bloomington, and my Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law.. During law school, I worked as a legal extern for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office before joining Tamaki Law Offices as an associate attorney in March 2010. I am a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Washington State Association for Justice.. I began my career as a criminal defense attorney. For 13 years, I defended people accused of felony and misdemeanor crimes, trying hundreds of cases and arguing before the court of appeals.. I then worked for 10 years in insurance companies and law firms, defending persons and companies in personal injury lawsuits. I represented clients in numerous arbitrations, mediations and negotiations, and had a stellar success rate at trial.. After gaining this experience, I wanted to return to a practice where I represented individuals seeking justice. For the past four years, I have focused my practice on representing injured individuals.
