I started my legal practice with a large, multi-specialty firm in Manchester, NH in 1991.  In 2006, I moved to the Tampa Bay, Florida area, but continued to work remotely for my NH law firm.    I moved to Bradenton, FL in 2017 to join the Blalock Walters firm.  I practice business law and health care law.  I enjoy working with entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses, as well as with businesses in the health care field (including physicians, dentists, and other healthcare providers).  I advise business owners on all kinds of issues, including entity formation, shareholders agreements, LLCs, buy/sell agreements, financing, and mergers and acquisitions.  With my health care clients, I assist with regulatory matters such as Stark Law and Anti-kickback Statute compliance, HIPAA compliance and the purchase and sale of health care practices and facilities.

I have served in operations and finance with the world’s largest accounting firm, airline, and bank. Most recently, I developed business intelligence and reporting on commercial banking clients in the Dallas and Chicago offices at JPMorgan across a variety of industry verticals—with a special emphasis on FIG and CRE clients.. In 2019, I chose to pivot from my career in finance to pursue law as my next profession. I am now an attorney and admitted to The Florida Bar.. I completed my Juris Doctor on full tuition merit scholarship in May 2022 and was recognized with the Frances Xavier Cabrini award for contributions to the school’s clinical program.. While in law school, I served on the Law Review Editorial Board where my monograph—Transhumanism: Morality and Law at the Frontier of the Human Condition—was selected for publication in the school’s law journal.. I passed the Florida Bar Examination in July 2022 and am awaiting my results from the February 2023 administration of the Texas Bar Examination.. Following the completion of my J.D., I joined the Real Property Development LL.M. program at the University of Miami School of Law.. I hold active CPA licensure in Florida and Texas and undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting and taxation from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.. Previously, I supported capital investment decision-making and financial reporting for the commercial real estate and legal divisions at American Airlines at their headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.. Prior to that, I co-founded Food on the Fly, a data mining and logistics startup leveraging mobile connectivity and transactional analytics to deliver premium meals in-terminal to transiting, time-constrained air passengers. My work on this venture is ongoing.. Before making the jump to the entrepreneurial realm, I began my career in the private equity and financial services tax compliance and consulting practice (“SALT-FS”) at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Dallas office where I engineered technical solutions to more effectively serve VC/PE clients including Texas Pacific Group, Goldman Sachs, First Reserve, HGGC, and others.. I also hold the Certified Management Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner credentials; I am pursuing the CFA charter and admission to the Texas bar.. In my spare time, I freelance as a journalist and researcher exploring the taxation, valuation, and novel applications of virtual assets. I also serve as a mentor and coach for university-age small business creators. I live and work in sunny South Florida.

Julio began practicing law over 30 years ago in Brazil and has spent most of his career focused on helping clients in the areas of international taxation, real estate, and foreign entities wishing to conduct business in the United States. While still living in Brazil, Julio served as an Associate of the Special Counsel of the Presidency, and Special Advisor to the Minister in Chief of the Military Office of the Republic of Brazil. After that he with this family to the United States and Julio completed a JD in 1999 and an LLM in 2004 at the University of Miami School of Law.. In 2001 Julio authored the book “How to Export to the United States,” a guide through the complexities of doing business (mainly exporting) with the companies located in the United States. Since then he has been invited as a featured speaker in more than a dozen countries throughout the Americas to discuss international trade, international taxation, arbitration, establishing entities and doing business in the United States.
