Antonio C. Martinez II is a native New Yorker, and the son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic.  He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Brooklyn Law School. He attended the United States Capitol Page School and is a graduate of New York Military Academy. His father, the late Antonio C. Martinez, Esq., was one of the first Dominican American members of the New York State Bar.  The Martinez family has been providing legal services since 1956.. Mr. Martinez began working with the U.S. Congress at the age of 16 when he served as a Senate Page to the late U.S. Senator Jacob Javits (R-NY) in 1980 and for the U.S. Senate Majority Leadership in 1981.  His past government experience includes positions with the U.S. Senate Library, the US Department of Justice, Civil Division, Admiralty and Environmental Law Section in New York City, the Legal Division of the New York City Council, and as a Mediator for the Community Dispute Resolution Center of Kings County, New York. His past corporate experience includes service as Vice President of Government Relations and Consumer Health at American Specialty Health Inc, San Diego, CA, and Vice President and General Counsel to Elant Inc, Goshen, NY.  He also served as President and Executive Director of Somos el Futuro Inc. () from 2010 to 2013, where he continues to serve the organization as Counsel and Board Member.. Through a diverse professional background and career with stints in government, the corporate world, the political and public interest arenas, Mr. Martinez is able to bring a diverse set of skills to bear for the Firm’s clients. Next, we need to get all of the facts.  Everything.  The good, bad, and the ugly.  Assessing where the client is, and what they are dealing with right now will lay the ground work for the next step.. 3. Strategy. What is the most efficent path to get to the client's stated objective. Where there is a will, there is way.  Devising a plan that will get us there smoothly and quickly is usually the best approach, but every situtation is differnent. For that reason, the strategy is customized, drawing upon years of experience in similar situations and our best judgment as to how this matter is best handled.. 4. Execution.  Getting it done, following the path we set together and most importantly achieving the client's objective.. While the process is simple, getting it done takes discipline, hard work and perseverence.  If, along the way, it gets messy, that's fine, bring it on.  The harder the fight - the sweeter the victory.  Brutal honesty - it is not cheap, but the peace of mind, knowing it will get done, is priceless. I relish the opportunity to get it done for my clients, and have been doing it successfully for years.

Attorney John Wood is an entrepreneur at heart and began his career in the business world in 1984 by taking the Real Estate Brokers Exam in Wisconsin at the age of 18. He continued to pursue his academic studies at Nicolet College until graduation. After completion of his degree at Nicolet, John moved to central Illinois where his family had relocated. He accepted a position in accounts receivable management for Southern Illinois School of Medicine. During his tenure at SIU Medical School, John diligently completed two Bachelor of Arts degrees at University of Illinois, Springfield. Seeking to continue to pursue his academic interests, John studied at the DePaul College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his academic career, receiving a Juris Doctor from DePaul and being admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. While at DePaul, John discovered a new career path and passion that allowed him to focus on his desire to build a business and provide a meaningful service to his clients.

A.J. Ruggieri joined Meyer Capel in 2018 as an associate attorney, joining the firm’s Business Planning & Transactions department as well as the Real Estate team.. In 2004, Mr. Ruggieri earned a double Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Illinois. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2011; and, additionally, obtained a Master’s of Law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in Corporate Law and Finance in 2012.. Mr. Ruggieri brings with him experience as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Champaign County from 2012 through 2015, and was a Champaign County Circuit Court Spanish Interpreter from 2007 through 2008.. A.J. has earned many awards, including Eagle Scout (1996), Central Illinois Business Magazine’s “40 Under 40” (2009), Combat Infantryman Badge (2009), and the Bronze Star medal (2009).. Mr. Ruggieri has been serving in the Illinois Army National Guard since 2001 and is a recent graduate of the Department of Defense Information School’s Public Affair Officer Course. He is also a very active member of the Champaign community. He has been serving on the Board of Governors for the Champaign County Bar Association from 2012 to present and currently serves as Vice President. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, an affiliate member of the Champaign County Association of Realtors, member of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, served on the Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee from March 2015 through April 2017 and served as Vice-Chair of said Committee from 2016 through 2017. A.J. was also elected to the Board of Trustees for the Village of Savoy in 2017.. In his spare time, A.J. enjoys fitness and running, public service, and sport shooting. He and his wife, Jessica, reside in Savoy with their three children.
