Andrew Dean joined the law firm of Patten, Wornom, Hatten & Diamonstein, L.C. in 2015 after practicing law in a commercial litigation firm in Southwest Florida. He graduated from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. and practices with the firm’s Business Law Group. Andrew has extensive experience litigating construction defect cases and advising start-up companies on all aspects of entity formation. His practice areas include real estate, construction defect, mechanics liens and personal injury as well as general business counsel in the areas of for-profit and not-for-profit entity formation, contract negotiation and transactions.. Andrew graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from California Polytechnic Statute University after which he completed Navy Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. After receiving his commission as an officer in the United States Navy, Andrew was assigned to fly the F/A 18 Super Hornet Strike Fighter Jet in Lemoore, CA. Andrew left active duty military service to attend law school and is currently a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserves.. Steve is a partner with the firm and Chair of the Business Law Group. He focuses on corporate and business law and assists clients with the formation, financing and development of business entities, including corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships.  He also represents businesses and their owners in transactions including mergers, stock sales and asset sales.     Steve’s experience as a tax attorney allows him to advise business clients in tax law matters, including the tax consequences of mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions, and help develop a plan to address and mitigate negative tax consequences.  His practice also includes advising tax-exempt entities in all aspects of corporate and federal tax law, including obtaining and retaining federal tax-exempt status.

My practice areas include employment and labor law, litigation, administrative law, real estate and corporate law. His primary focus is advising employers on how to manage all types of legal issues that arise in a competitive business environment. These issues include protecting proprietary information and trade secrets, managing corporate structures, strategies for managing the employment relationship and the termination of those relationships, drafting operating agreements, and amending governing documents and budgets.I also have extensive litigation expertise that includes employment matters, contracts, the Freedom of Information Act, constitutional challenges to governmental check off programs, domain name disputes, and challenges to federal rulemaking by governmental agencies. He has litigated matters in federal and state court and federal and state agencies and has acted as lead counsel in both jury and non-jury trials.I represent nationwide commodity boards in a diverse array of legal issues including reviewing and drafting contracts, promotion and marketing plans, joint venture agreements and employment issues.
