I am a product of divorced parents and a split family household. My parents were divorced when I was 12 years old, with both my mother and father later remarrying. Both of my stepparents had children of their own from prior marriages, who became part of my family. As a result, I have experienced firsthand the emotional and financial challenges of divorce and family law issues and seek to help my client navigate the often confusing legal complexities family law litigation can pose.. I received a bachelor of arts, magna cum laude, with honors, from Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences and Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs double majoring in International Relations and Economics.  While at Syracuse, I was named as the College of Arts and Sciences College Marshal and Convocation Speaker.  I received my Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law where I finished in the top 25 percent of my class and was awarded the School of Law’s Academic Excellence Award (highest grade obtained in the class) in the field of Securities Regulation.  While in law school I also participated in Trial Advocacy and advanced Moot Court.  ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________. Since becoming an attorney in 2005, my life has been impacted by the family laws of this state. My marriage resulted in divorce, and my ex-husband and I share true joint custody of our daughter. I know, first-hand, the intricacies of these relationships and the effect that divorce can have on a family's emotional and financial well-being.. So, while my desire to be an attorney grew out of academic lessons and idealistic ideas, my reason for practicing law – family law – is much more basic: I help people get through the "murky details" so that they can get to the "living life" part.. After completing college at the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in business administration, I studied law at the University of Arkansas. Except for a stint at the Arkansas Securities Department, where I litigated securities fraud issues, and a short but educational foray into banking as a commercial lender, I have practiced family law.
