Since I was young, I always dreamed of being a lawyer. Experiences often shape who we are, and my past definitely shaped who I am today. Growing up, nothing was as simple as “yes or no,” there was always another approach, another side, another idea that everyone else was missing. Surprisingly, I never wanted to be a family lawyer! However, the last two years of practice have really developed my love for helping clients through the difficulties of fighting for their children, ending a marriage, or fighting a system that is stacked against them. Developing strategies to assist people through these difficulties has really allowed my problem-solving skills to shine!

I am a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. I left Texas to study economics at Purdue University and graduated in 2010 with honors. At Purdue, I participated in AIESEC and regularly played in all intramural sports. Also, I attended Bejing Jiaotong University for a semester on an expenses-paid scholarship to study Chinese. Studying abroad was not only educational but also incredibly fun and showed me how important it is to me to travel.. After college, I attended Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas and graduated in February 2014. In law school, I competed in the National Health Care Law Moot Court competition and successfully made a break out of 30 teams across the country. I also competed on the Transactional Law Meet team. Both of these competitions sharpened my advocacy skills I continue to use in my practice. During my first summer of law school, I interned with the Honorable Judge McFarland in the 133rd District Court in Houston, and the internship taught me insights relating to the courtroom I rely on still.. Before starting my firm, I worked at a mid-size family law litigation firm and a defense litigation firm both in Houston.. In my free time, I enjoy traveling abroad to hike and camp, including the Inca Trail in Peru and Patagonia in Argentina. I also had the chance to work on an alpaca farm in New Zealand for six weeks after I took the Texas bar exam, which was a unique way to experience a new culture. I have also been to South Africa, Germany, many Asian countries, and continually look forward to adding more stamps to my passport. Locally, I also appreciate what Houston offers, such as its famous restaurant scene.
I have been practicing law since 1983 and I very much enjoy what I do. I meet people at their lowest points, which is the nature of a divorce case, and I do everything I can to help them through this trying time. If children are involved, I urge my clients to emphasize what is best for the children. If the other spouse sees things the same way, this can lead to good outcomes for all concerned. I have a stable of available experts to assist my clients and me such as real estate appraisers, business valuation experts, forensic accountants, forensic psychologists and vocational rehabilitation experts. I work full time and am available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I am also available after hours or on weekends by appointment. As a public service, I do not charge a fee for a potential client's first appointment. I served 20 years in the United States Army Reserve and learned many valuable lessons in that career which I apply to my law practice every day.

Martindale-Hubbell is the oldest, most established peer-review rating entity in the legal field, having been around for over 150 years. It is the “Gold Standard” for attorneys.. Tough when toughness is needed. In some cases, a dominate spouse tries to bully the other into yielding his or her legal rights. Or perhaps your spouse wound up with an inexperienced attorney who thinks bluster can make up for a lack of experience in family law. Such cases require a forceful approach, making the bully wish they had stuck to the high road.. No “one size fits all” philosophy. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. You need to find an attorney who has a complete toolbox. Kendall has invested in extensive training enabling him to assess your case and advise you about a full range of ways you can approach your case based on your unique situation.. There are times when the wise approach is to dial down the intensity. When the other spouse may be willing to seek common ground in some areas, especially when children are involved, you don’t want an attorney who is a bull in a china shop, stirring up animosity which will create needless stress, and a dark cloud which may linger for a lifetime. Many times Kendall has provided the cool head which de-escalated a case which could have easily spiraled out of control.. Trained collaborator. When both parties are willing to work together to come up with as peaceable solution as possible, collaboration can be a great option. By nature, collaboration tends to be more cost-effective. This is because the atmosphere is less litigious with you and your spouse more involved in pursuing an agreement which satisfies both of you.. Educated. Kendall earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1993, after earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from Oral Roberts University. He joined AV-rated law firm Savage O'Donnell as a partner in 2006. In 2020, he launched out on his own as a sole practitioner.. Connected. Actively engaged in the Tulsa community, Kendall has served on several committees within the Tulsa County Bar Association, the Tulsa River Parks Authority User Advisory Board, and serves in the leadership of the Tulsa Wheelmen Race Team. Kendall's efforts help the Wheelmen earn the prestigious Club of the Year National Award by USACycling in 2015.. Family man. Kendall has been married for over thirty years and has two children and one grandchild. Kendall and his wife attend Asbury United Methodist Church where they are very active in small-group and discipleship leadership and volunteer as mentors for engaged couples.
