Mr. Filiberto is a knowledgeable and creative lawyer with a vast array of experience both in and out of court.. He has established an office in Carmel, New York, where he practices Family Law, Criminal Law, Personal Injury Law, Trusts and Estates Law, and general civil litigation.. Having served as the Principal Law Clerk for two Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, he is familiar with matrimonial and domestic relations matters, serving the Court in a matrimonial part, general civil matters in a civil part and has served with the Court in a dedicated commercial division part. Subsequent to his service with the Court in trial parts, Mr. Filiberto joined an ancillary agency of the Court which represented people subject to guardianship proceedings as Court Evaluator as well as defense counsel for people alleged to be incapacitated. In addition, he represented the mentally ill both in and out of the hospital, protecting the rights of individuals subject to inpatient commitment as well as outpatient control. Prior to his joining the Court, Mr. Filiberto maintained a private practice serving client in divorce proceedings, Family Court matters, custody matters, Child Support matters, Landlord - Tenant matters, Estate matters and varied general civil litigation.
